I have the program and will start day 1 on monday, july 18. With playing tennis, how do you schedule your time with working out in the morning or afternoon? I usually play tennis in the morning so should i do p90x in the afternoon? Or should i play tennis in the early morn and do p90x right after, or vice versa?

P90x and tennis is just way too much. After most P90X workouts, you will feel like you are going to die.

I recommend you do the P90X right after your tennis session.

This way you don't have to worry about being sore or lacking energy for your tennis later that day. Nor would you have to take 2 showers.

Keep at it. Soon you will get used to it.

The same goes for Insanity. The first few weeks will be hard, but eventually you do get used to it.

Oh okay thanks! I guess doing p90x before tennis wouldn't be good either?

I do the ab workout in the mornings before tennis. after a week u will get used to it. Now I can do the P90X ab workout 5 days a week, I feel like it keeps my midsection solid when I do it before tennis. Just My Opinion

Much of P90X is about strength training and lifting to failure. You definitely don't want to do that even just a few hours before a tennis match.

If you are young or in such great shape that you can recover quickly from workouts, then perhaps you can do p90x in the morning and tennis in the afternoon or evening.

Five days left of Insanity, and I'm with those who say do it either right before (if it's a lighter workout; for example I like to do one of the 'recovery day' workouts before tennis as a great warm up) or right after tennis. At first doubling up is very, very tough, but like others say, you get more used to it. KEY, though, is to get yourself loaded up with good nutrition, carbs, etc. I was flat baked until I realized how important nutrition was to keeping the energy level up. (not to mention helping with the results)...

Of course, Insanity (more cardio, leg based) is different than P90, which from what I understand is much more about muscle building, so that might be even more difficult to manage alongside tennis, so be careful. Good luck to you, though. I'm totally sold on Insanity and a regular hitting partner of mine did P90X during an offseason and lost a crapload of weight.
