Pablo Cuevas? Why hasn't he played at all this year?

I remember seeing this guy take out Guillermo Garcia-Lopez last year in Houston, in 3 sets. For someone reason I thought about how much fun going to that tournament was, and decided to look up Cuevas. I noticed he hasn't played a single match this year, which is really odd because he's a clay court specialist, so I would think he would have played the Latin American Swing and Monte Carlo, but he hasn't.

Anyone know if he's hurt or something?

Some kind of injury, he will be playing with a protected ranking @ RG.
One of these from 2011 I guess...bad back.

Yeah not too long after I posted this thread, I found that the had an injury and also had surgery in October last year. Good to hear that he'll be playing @ RG this year.

Last year I saw him playing in RG. He lost the 1st round to Antonio Veic (q), actualy retired in the 3rd or 4th set. Nothing happened during the match; however it seemed that something is wrong with his movement. If I remember correctly, he retired somewhere before RG as well. Since RG2011 he has not played. I also checked some clips in youtube and noticed that he had the leg surgery.

He's ranked 744 now. I remember when he was top 50 just a short time ago!
