She's not playing at all, and Jana Juricova from Cal is only playing doubles. They must be saving themselves for the NCAAs.

I like that the Pac-10 Championships is an individual tournament with no team matches. Not that traditional team-dual conference championships aren't nice, but the Pac-10 is a nice change of pace.

Also like that they have the Invitational Single and Doubles for the lower players.

Fedace meant that Clayton was favored to win in the first round and then lose in the second round, which he did.

Disappointing for Alex, he has talent... but to be fair, no match is easy and Inbar is a very good player. 1st set tie break is always tough to lose. Alex will be moving away from competitive tennis anyway in just a few months...

Dennis playing well! :) that's good news for the Cards.

And all the seeded teams lost in doubles, according to the website, but I'd hold off on taking those results to the bank just yet. I have a hard time believing Klahn/Thacher lost 8-1 to Arizona's #3 doubles team. I think they might have the results reversed.

Klahn is the fourth semifinalist, will play Cal's Nick Andrews.

The doubles results were messed up. Thacher/Klahn and Johnson/Sarmiento advanced to the semis. Ho/Kehrer made the quarters, not sure about their result.

Kos is playing in a Futures event in Florida. He beat the #1 seed to make the quarters. Devin Britton lost in the first round. Mitchell Frank (UVA signee) is also in the quarters.

Two of the best freshmen in the nation face off tomorrow in the Semis. Kristie Ahn vs Nicole Gibbs. best friends also. I think they will just toss a coin and one will default on purpose.

Everyone knows that all the students in those west coast schools have to do to get a degree is play ultimate frisbee twice a week and work on their tans.

Seriously, apparently Kos is contemplating going pro after the season ends. He lost in the quarters, so he should be on his way back to L.A.

Ok, watch Koz here in a recent match against Steve Johnson. He played well in the 1st set but lost because he played a Brain cramp service game at the end of 1st set. but overall, Koz was clearly getting over-powered and out-played by Steve J of USC. Koz doesn't look like he is ready for Pro tennis.
Steve has a massive forehand for college level but when Koz gets to the pros, that is common place.

    Just watch the match below:

I didn't say that I thought he should go pro, just that he is apparently considering it.

Johnson is going to play the Futures circuit this fall and decide if he wants to return for the spring.

Would a USTA grant possibly be the reason?? Not sure if they would get discounts on rooms etc etc, and if they doubled guys up, they could save even more.

Pretty sure his family doesnt have a ton of money, I know when his brother Marcin played Kalamazoo they would drive there.

This is a way bigger match for Klahn then Johnson. If Klahn eins expect him to dominate from here on out. If he loses well, I'm not sure what will happen.

no matter .. it's way too strange for UCLA #1 to miss out on the Ojai .. that tournament is like Wilmbledon of college Pac 10 tennis.. unless it's a personal DK protest ,anyone of the Pac10 leaders would never miss Ojai to play elsewhere ...

Kozak going pro??? Must be a joke. He's a good player in juniors and college, but nowhere near the pros. He has lost many matches this season already, and he's not dominating college tennis in any way. Why would he even think of going pro at this stage?

With the USTA encouraging more players to take the college route, this is going to be a more frequent occurrence. Say what you want about the prestige of the event, but there aren't any ATP points available there. Players that have their eyes set on going pro are going to pursue playing in events that prepare them for the next level. And the coaches of the top programs need to be ready to let them skip some events to do so.

Kos got a wild card into the main draw of a Futures event and took out a guy in the top 400 before losing. What did he have to gain from playing in the Pac-10? The event has no bearing on whether his team hosts a regional, and he's a lock for the NCAA singles field.

So, Steve Johnson is now 4-1 against Bradley Klahn this year. Last year's NCAA title for Klahn is somewhere in between the legitimate titles won in most years and the fluke title won by Devin Britton.

I think it's more of an indication of how hard it is to be on the title winning team and win the singles title. The difference between playing 8 matches in a row versus 6.
