What I stated was not an opinion or personal preference. Do your homework, young fella. The manufacturer (strongly) suggests 57-67 lbs.

And no, the pros didn't tell me this. I told this to the pros.

    Play this trumpet

I don't give a crap about what the manufacturer recommends
or what facts a nobody like you pulled out of his arrogant, uneducated butthole.
Your opinion is not even worth wiping my read end with.
So just jump back into the hole you crawled out of,
before I string up the next set of Bull Gut at 40 lbs.

    Mike,

Just ignore the troll. If he has a real opinion to add, he does not need to add his opinion that way. And please do NOT string it lower b/c of a troll comment. You did state that you had trouble controlling it at 50, so I would still recommend trying it out at 60.
It would be a welcomed experience for you.

Regardless of what anyone says to you, stringing lower to spite someone you don't know when you yourself say that it already has too much power doesn't seem like a smart thing to do.

Mike, you hinted that the main problem with the string setup so far has been that its too powerful. More tension would address that. And believe me (as someone who has tried gut at different tensions) gut only gets better at a higher tension. Not talking about 80 lbs here, just 60-65, which is where I believe the sweetspot is for quality gut in a midplus frame. I do about 60 for a mid and a few lbs higher in a midplus.

It's your string and you can do what you want. But I'd hate for you to waste another C note on a too-loose string bed.

    Cheers

Also, curious to see why you have a preference for similar tensions whether you're playing with full bed gut vs. gut / ZX. Did you string Prime in your Six.One BLX 18x20 at 51 lbs as well? How did that play?

Okay Michael, I was a bit harsh in my cynicism - just try it strung tighter homey. Your experience will be pleasantly different.

For those of you that use this Bull gut ? How long do you keep it in, as long as it lasts ? Full bed ? Hybrid ?

This is so expensive, it just isn't practical for me which I use hybrid with poly. I make pretty good money and still it would not be practical.

I have now had a full set of Bull Gut 16L gauge in my Yonex Tour G 330 for over five months
and it still feels as fresh as during the first month. My racket was strung on the 28th of March and the strings were not pre-stretched.
Tension was 25 kg / 24 kg (55 lbs / 53 lbs). I plan on keeping the Bull Gut for at least a year.
If the Bull Gut lasts you at least a year, it becomes a worthwhile investment, especially if you say you make good money.

You might be pleased to know that the Bull Gut in my Yonex VCORE Tour G 330 was strung at a higher tension, 25 kg / 24 kg (55 lbs / 53 lbs),
compared to my EZONE Ai 98, and the Bull Gut in my Regna will be strung even higher than my Tour G. So there.
Not that you would care, since it is not your racket, but whatever. Sometimes I do listen to advice.

Is that a compliment or an insult? Either one is fine, just curious.

Probably not. Earth is a boring and crappy planet. There are better planets in the universe.

My regular premium gut lasts over a year as I am not a string breaker. I don't know if there's a justification in getting bull gut, but I am curious to try both a full bed and as a gut / poly hybrid.

I also string my gut a bit higher than you do. (62 lbs)
