I have been practicing for about 2 hours probably three times this week. Yesterday I was feeling pain in my hand in the part that you would hit with if you did a karate chop, moving towards the wrist. It seemed to hurt most during serves, but also hurt some during forehands. Could this be due to bad technique or simply not being used to the amount of practicing I've been doing?

    search for ulnar

Had same type of pain, switched to a heavier less stiff racquet, all gone now.

Sounds like you might be gripping the racquet too hard at the pinky area. Try taking a closer examination of how you are gripping the racquet.
