    "Real" as opposed to "lawn", do you mean, joe? They're in remarkably good condition - where did you find them?

    Real or Royal means court tennis, see ref for more info.
    I purchased the pair from another collector.

    Pretty sure they were made in the UK in the 1890s. Small maker name Royal that is not even mentioned in the Keubler book.
