    Hi there,
I've just got a YTIG Prestige MP limited edition - the black one -, and decided to put on a leather grip.
    So far, nothing special.
But when I removed the original synthetic grip, I saw that the pallets are labelled "TGK 82 S". Aren't these the Speed pallets??? I was expecting to find the regular TGK 82 pallets!
Now I'm really wondering if maybe the TGK 82 S pallets are on all the YTIK Prestige (MP l.e.) rackets.
Has anyone checked theirs, or does anyone have information on this?
Racket was bought from a well-established retailer in Germany, so I have no reason to suspect anything
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Best
    Alex78

Edit: I mean "TK 82 S", of course...

Mine had a normal TK82 pallet. Are you sure that you didn't mistake the size number (2 or 3 maybe) for an "S"?

Mine reads 2 in the first line (for grip size), TK82 in the second, and S in the third...

I just really like the regular TK 82, a main reason why I'm sticking with Head. Was shocked to discover the "S" pallets on this brand new racket. If noone else reports this, I'm really wondering if this can just be attributed to poor quality control

Might the TK82S pallets on the 25th Anniversary Prestige be part of an "EU" production batch?? Fingers crossed mine also comes with the TK82S - I prefer it over the regular TK82...mine is on its way to me from a UK retailer.

Would manufacturers do such things? I mean, different paint jobs or even different names like in the 80ies are one thing when it's the same racket. But grip shape is important (to many people, I guess).
Had I known they put the "S" pallet on, I probably wouldn't have ordered it...
But right now I'm curious if there are more YTIGPMPLEs :) featuring the "S" than just mine.

    ^^ I ordered an L3...but I prefer the TK82 shape in L2...
Part of my going up a size is because I noticed this 25th Anniv is fitted with Hydrosorb PRO grip - which is labelled as 1.7mm IIRC. That suggests it is nominally thinner than the regular Hydrosorb Tour grips as fitted to the regular Prestiges.

So if neither of us are happy with our respective rackets, we could always swap :)

    Swapping would be cool ;-)
But if you thought the original grip was too thin, why didn't you just exchange it for a thicker grip, instead of going up one size?

Coz I use an overgrip on top, always. At the time I ordered there were no L2's available. L3 is not my first choice but it's not a dealbreaker when there are grips like Skin Feel and Resi Thin available nowadays

The racket is due next week. I'll email you if I have major issues with it and you are of a mind to offload yours.

Uh, you know, while I like the idea of swapping rackets, shipping costs would probably be too expensive. I live in Germany, and could get regular pallets for far less money than shipping alone.
But thanks a lot for this offer!

Wow, that's a little weird to me... Seems like I am about the only guy who got the S pallets everyone else in this thread wants on this racket - and I'm the only who doesn't want them over the regular ones...
I've sent an enquiry to Head, will see if they answer, and if they do (maybe that's a big if, not sure they care about such enquiries), I'll post it here. Maybe MAXXply is onto something with his idea of a eurobatch.

Mine was a TK82, bought from a German online store.

    Mine came with TK82

I got it from a HEAD official dealer in Southeast Asia, and it was TK82 (no.2). Changed it to TK82S, and put silicon in the handle (10g). It feels better now but no where near what a best Prestige MP should or could (e.g. iPrestige). I have no experience with PT630 or 280 though.

    Thanks, Pippin!
    - So far, it looks like mine is at least an aberration from the standard.
I hope Head answers my eMail, so I have some definitive proof.

Just a quick update for anyone interested in this:
Head didn't answer my question, and I don't know if the retailer received an answer from them. But they (the retailer) accepted the racket back without problems even though I had removed the replacement grip. I thought that was really nice on their part.
    - And now I've decided to go Prestige-free for the moment ;-)

Did you ever play the stick with a leather grip and how did that play?

Naw, then I wouldn't have tried to give it back...
Reason I wanted to put on the leather was that the racket weighed just 311 g with the synth grip. But I think quite a few owners of this model have reported a much lower weight than the specs should let one expect.

I have a leather grip on one of my IG Prestige MPs (non-anniverary) and it plays great. Love the weight and balance (though it's not my racquet of choice right now).

Thanks! I am very tempted to try the same. Did a play better than stock? And what was different? Should I try head leather, having read that that is not too thick or too heavy?
