...I just wanted everybody to know that PayPal DID get my money back (- their charges?!?!?), from that guy we've been looking for... :) I STRONGLY suggest that you persist IMMEDIATELY...I'd CALL PayPal to find out any status regarding your claim....BEFORE PayPal loses 'track' of him...again !!!

I don't know what you're talking about. If you can detail your conversation with PayPal and how they managed to agree to pay you back, then I'd believe you but your story is very vague as to how you really got your money back. I called them up like you said. Here's their response as expected, "at this point PayPal cannot do anything. Please read our security information on the web site. If you want to report this as fraud, go to this web site....."

What kind of BS is that? All they told me was that he DID have an account and then cancelled it after he received the money. THey told me to tell other members to not make transactions with him and stay away from him. Well NO DUH!

PayPal has always been the worse with these cases and I don't think that will ever change. For the next time I will always make sure my seller gives me the same information I give him so I can track him down if I don't get my item.

.....you can believe what you want... This ISN'T a babysitting service --- I was trying to let people know that if I got MY money back, surely some of the others (after??) me might have a chance...I'm not here to tell anybody ANYthing other than that....if you send me an email, I'll send you a copy of my PayPal transaction trail SHOWING the refund...only because I FEEL like it....

Well it doesn't matter much to me if you got YOUR money back or not because I'm more concerned with getting MY money back. I figured you had a systematic process of forcing PayPal to refund the money but if it's just calling them and nagging for it, it didn't work for me and neither did it for the other posters that I've spoken with. In the end it doesn't do any good to know you got your money back nor am I interested in looking at your transaction because I really don't FEEL like it, what really matters if all of us were informed with a good procedure to guarantee PayPal will refund our scammed money.

I asked my colleague who is a Network Administrator to run an IP Tracert and I was informed that the user account "D. Nelson" is registered to the same IP address as the paypal scammer.

.....it really has nothing to do with 'nagging' ANYbody (maybe THAT'S why you didn't get anywhere...) --- what it DOES have to do with is presenting as much factual information; on a TIMELINE (if possible)....and like I said before...maybe a little 'luck' with the timing (...for example, maybe he had just opened up a new account when I/they were working on my case...and they could actually TIE him to SOME source of $$..??)................. There IS no magic "sequence of action" that I would suggest, other than what's already been mentioned...

    D. Nelson,

I don't know if PERFMODE is kidding with you or not, but I assume he got a little irritated because all this time you've been stating just the obvious and nothing really informative to help us get our money back. Your way of words makes it seem like you are speaking to your children but really nothing coming out of it seems educational if you know what I mean.

And PERFMODE is correct, it is an IP TRACERT, not Tracer. If you don't believe me go on google and type it up to find out for yourself.

.......well, I apologize for that...I'm not trying to talk down to anybody...but it's a little frustrating for me as well...I just wanted to (originally) tell people that there was a chance of them getting their money back, because "I" did......that's ALL I was ever trying to do...but these questions about 'how' to "do" it...and then questioning "ME".....what a joke.... I also apologize for not knowing what a Tracert is (???)................... I've explained what "I" did, the best that I can.....and honestly, I don't know WHY (none of) the rest of you haven't had any better luck....
