which one do you prefer?
i prefer standard, but then again, i think i just prefer standard length racquets in general.
I prefer the + because it has more controllable pop. The extra length suits my two hander and gives me better spin on both groundies and serves. It is slightly less maneuverable than its standard counterpart but it is still light enough that maneuverability should not be an issue. It volleys well enough, though volleys are not its strongest aspect. I play with it stock other than the full size grip build up sleeves under each handle (4 1/2 built up to 4 5/8).
If you are unsure which one to buy, why dont you start with the 'Plus'. If you decide you dont like the extra length, just hack off the extra 1/2". I understand that's all Babalot does at the factory to create the 'Standard'
i use the standard and never looked back
The + suits me the best! The extra length is essential for a 2BH and it feels to me like the + gives more power compared to the std but its vice versa for control. The control with PD+ isnt that good but there is that extra power.
I'm planning on switching racquets... any recommendations?
Neither one, but if i had to choose i would pick the standard because i cant play with anything over 27".
i prefer the pd+, more swingweight
I think the standard is a good racquet that suits a wide range of players although it is a bit too stiff to offer good comfort.
I know the + version is popular but that combination of stiffness, low weight and extended length are a recipe for arm/shoulder/wrist problems and best avoided by the majority of players. I also have a sneaking suspicion that the plus, not the standard length, version is the direct cause of Babolat's reputation for TE.
standard much better for more advanced player. + for 3.5-
Search the boards on the PD+ and some of the arm injuries that have been mentioned. Top to bottom arm pain (shoulder, elbow and wrist) has been described. The PD+ personally hurt my wrist. Got rid of it in 6 weeks. It had tons of power but at a cost. I haven't heard the arm problems associated with the standard PD.
standard is more manueverable, which definitely helps at the net.
i liked the standard better
