hi.. i just bought a babolat pure drive a couple of weeks ago.. and i broke the strings already so i am restring it now... for me the original stringing from babolat was too loose.. as i couldnt hit really hard with it, with my old racquet which was wilson triad 6.0 i could hit really hard.. therefore i would like to know what is the best string tension for this racquet? so i could maximize my power with this racquet? at how tight did andy roddick get his? thanks!

Surely it depends on the player and their type of game, the optimum tension differs between people!

Prostafftour90, people say my style of play is similar to andy roddick's that is why i was asking at what tension he strings it at.. what i mean by similar as roddick doesnt mean i hit as hard as him.. but my style.. i hit my serve and forehand really hard as both of that is a very big weapon of mine.. i have a 1 handed backhand which is not bad but not really consistent.. thank you for all your help

I believe andy strings his Pd+'s with VS touch and Pro hurricane, at 67 lbs.

I would ask first you what kind of strings are you using?
Polyester strings are stiff, I would say 62
    Syn gut 16g, I would like 72
The next cuestion, do you have problems with your arm?

I was stringing my PD+ with Prince Syn Gut (duraflex) 17 ga @ 65 lbs. Recently I've been using Kirschbaum Touch Turbo 17ga at somewhere in the 58-60 lba range. When I first bought the rackets February of last year I used the "recommended tension" and could not keep a ball in the court. I would also recommend lead tape at 3 and 9 o'clock...that helped a lot as well.

Just strung my new PD Std up with PSG w/ DF at 60. I will definately go up to 62 (maybe higher) the next string job. This thing is a definately too powerful at 60.

I was afraid to use poly in the PD as the frame is already quite stiff and didn't want to take a chance with my arm. If I am still getting too much power after I go to 62+ with PSG....I may hybrid some 17g poly with syn gut.

I was using a modified Ti Rad MP (11.5 oz). Prior to that it was an HPS61. I also toyed with an LM Prestige MP and i Prestige MP in the last 6 months.

I chose the PD because it enhanced my 1st serve, second serve, and overall topspin/slice vs. my previous rackets. It also volleys suprisingly well. I'll have to get used to the PD power but so far I like it. :D
