Those pics are from the Open division, but there are age groups as well.

Blue shirt w/ K88 is Rodrigo Navarro, a teaching pro from the Wigwam. He played a bit of Davis Cup for Bolivia back in the day. Really solid player. Ended up losing to the young guy in the muscle shirt (Bojan Temunovic) 6-1, 0-6, 7-6 (7).

Crazy match. The kid used some gamesmanship, such has prolonged grunting that lasted well after the shot was hit - sometimes as long as when Rodrigo was hitting hit shots. Some iffy line calls, excessive celebrating - all great theater. The kid broke strings on the only racquet he had left. He borrowed a racquet from a friend and broke strings. Then borrowed a racquet from a spectator and broke strings after 2 games. The then got a loaner from the club and broke strings after 3 games. Had to finish with some older Yonex stick.

    Racquet 1: K-Blade 98
    Racquet 2: K-Six One 95
    Racquet 3: K-Tour 90
    Racquet 4: Head Liquid Prestige
Racquet 5: Some slightly older red Yonex

Really nice pics, it seems that some of them were testing rackets right?

Didn't Bojan Temunovic graduate from high school just a couple years ago? I vaguely remember him being a pretty high level recruit. Is he playing college tennis somewhere?

He moved back to Serbia shortly after graduating. He said he's been back about 3 months. Planning on attending Scottsdale Community College and playing for them next year.

Nah - I think you're seeing one of the loaner racquets Bojan had to use due to string breakage.

Darn hot. Around 105 today. My kid played Thursday and won a tough 3-setter that lasted 2 hrs 40 minutes, then got an hour break and back out to play the #5 seed. Unfortunately, he cramped after winning the first set pretty easily. At least his 2nd match was in the evening, though it was still in the upper 90's.

Today's quarterfinal winners had to play 2 daytime matches - pretty brutal.

Well, if you play davis cup for your country you have to be a good player lol. Anyway, what string/tension Navarro is using? Again great pics, thank you.
