Went to the US Open and saw Grabriela Sabatini’s racquet in a case. I took some pics of it, because I was impressed by the “leather”(?) and the amount of lead that she put in the racquet head. She also put “leather” in the throat, now common with some pros (Safin, Pierce, et als). I read somewhere that her racquet was the heaviest at the pro level by her time, weighting around 15.0 oz.

She switched to some sort of Yamaha towards the end of her career. I don't think it was a Secret. Not sure though.

Forgot to say that the racquet had several (at least 3) layers of lead of 7 or 8 inches in the 12 o'clock position.

I read in an interview with Roman Prokes in Tennisweek that she was one of two players that actually went over 400 g weight. He does lots of current pro player's mods, including AA and MS.

BTW, does anybody knows what does the leather between the grommet and the string? More feel or power? Tx

those are powerpads. They are traditionally used to decrease the angle of the string in the grommet, so that it doesnt break there. This is useful for gut strings, or if the grommets have sharp edges. Also, it creates a more muted feel.

When I was younger (and better), I used the POG 110 with powerpads, generally with a soft synthetic like the old technifibre strings. Strung it up to 70 and the thing played like butta!
