Any update on this? Curious to see what info you dug up!
Nice find. It's amazing how real the Cortex actually looks
Haha fake hurricanes, fake cortex, way to go Babolat.
how do you know cortex is just "paint"? which pics should i look closer?
easy. there aren't ridges like the racquets with real cortex. nadal's "cortex" is completely flat and flush with the frame.
i remember reading where he admitted it was painted on but was planning to make the switch to real cortex soon. that was when the cortex version first came out. guess that transition never happened
i thought nadal's grip tape had no logo on it and it was just plain black. did he change?
If someone can give me a factual info about how long the lead tape at 12 o'clock extends to both sides (12 o'clock being center) on Nadal's APD, I would really appreciate it.
off topic but I read that Head almost got Nadal to sign with them
hahah yeah, ah well atleast most of their stuff is good.
that's the funniest post i've ever read at TT lol
alright, alright... Someone tell me what PJ means. its killing me. :-|
PJ= Paint job
thanks, i swear i cant keep up with all these hip acronyms
Don't worry you'll be hit with more acronyms along the way
wehre can you get most of his bandana...?
ohh... nowhere??
So it has to be a PJ bandana....
If ur able to take it home
ill buy it off u straight away for a good price
Cortex is painted.
The cortex on Nadal and Roddicks raquets are both painted on. I held one of Roddicks raquets at my tennis camp and it has a custom sized grip and painted on cortex.
i have that racket great racket by the way
thanks for the pics.
I wante to ask if nadal or other pros havetheir tennis racket manufactured, let's say nadal's babolat apd is made in france as oposed to china? or like wilson rackets used by sponsores pros are made in the usa?
I have seen that in football (soccer) that sponsored football stars are made usually in europe (like adidas made in france with special personal embroidery)....
just curious. thanks for any info in advance.
You're right, most of the pros' racquets are custom manufactured at their local headquarters, not in China. So yes, Nadal's Babolats are made in France, Wilsons in USA, Dunlops in England, etc.
I think he does have a overgrip. You can see the bevels in the first picture.
How do u they put lead inside the frame? Or do they just use more or heavier material in the manufacturing?
No, just put it on the top of frame, under bumper not inside the frame.:???:
why dont they just manufacture it to the specs though instead of installing lead afterwards
Small grip = more wrist movement = more spin.
With the kind of topspin Nadal produces, lots of wrist movement is necessary.
Hey can you check to see if there's any weight added to the racquet? I can't imagine him using a stock 10.6, seems too light but no lead visible on the racquet.
