I've sifted through all of the TT threads that talk about this drink, but nobody seems to have definitely identified what this pink drink is that the majority of pros are drinking. Some say cytomax among many other brands.

It has been quite a few years since the last thread on this, so I was wondering if anyone had updated information. Gulbis was drinking it in his presser yesterday, in addition to many other of the pros.

YES, I wondered about this myself on many occasions when I watch tennis. I saw Berdych drinking pick stuff the other day too. I think it is some kind of powder mix. I like to know what that powder is

Why do you doubt the other threads? Just because there are differing opinions? It's rare on TW that anything is unanimous. Or because you think pros have access to noncommercial products?

I still think it's probably Cytomax, fruit punch. I switched to the grape.

There is not just one go to electrolyte drink that tennis players drink. some drink fruit flavored ones, but I doubt they are all the same ones.

Most tennis players have their electrolyte level carefully monitored and calibrated throughout their days off and match days. As a result there is no universal sports beverage that they all supplement with.

Obviously nobody really knows what Gulbis is drinking but due to it's appearance, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a protein based drink like Hammer's Stawberry-Vanilla Perpetuem. I personally use Accelerade as I've found it really works for me, although there is no "pink" in their lineup that I know of.

There are many sources for the electrolyte recovery drinks these guys use, most coming from endurance-based sports like cycling. When I witnessed events on the Futures level, most of the guys were using Cytomax. Accelerade is another that has come down from the cycling tour. SIS and High5Zero Xtreme are just a couple more brands. The High5 comes in a pink grapefruit flavor if you're picky on pink.

I have the exact same colored pink drink. It is BCAAs in water. I believe athletes are taking those, plus water plus an electrolyte mix as well.

All the amino acids I have used are that exact pink color. They provide an electrolyte boost and help with performance and recovery as well.

Interesting story behind Biosteel's development...NHL's lockout in '04 resulted in a CBA with stringent drug-testing after the sides settled. The Maple Leafs' strength/conditioning coach couldn't get his sources for supplements to guarantee their products would pass muster so he started making his own! It is the chosen product amongst the NHL players and is now getting through to other sports...Dez Bryant of the NFL Dallas Cowboys is their most recent high profile athlete to endorse them.
