I am thinking of replacing an old PK Pro 5G with one of TW's PK Ki5 315 (black paint, but not the newest Q5 product ). Has anyone owned one long enough to comment on the overall quality of the racquet, including the issue of Ki granules continuing to function in hoop.

I assume the grommets are still suboptimal and will need to be replaced after several stringings.

Mine seems fine, no problems that I can see. Great racquet.

Racquets hold up just fine. Be aware that the 315 version rarely seems to weight 315g, I have 3 racquets that are 307, 309 and 310 grams. They all play identically and are balanced identically.

I own 2 of the similar Ki 5x. They were both a little heavier than spec by about 5-10 grams. No big deal. It also doesn't surprise me to hear that the Ki 5 is lighter. I tried both, and the Ki 5x does feel substantially heavier. I had mine for over a year now, and I string them often. Overall I'm pleased with the quality. The paint has chipped in a few places, but it's nothing unusual. The grommets are still good. As far as I can tell, they both play the same and they play like they did when they were new. In short, if you like how they play, get them. I've owned Wilsons, Heads, and Babolats in the past. The quality of PK is on par with them. It's not better, but it won't make you miss the other brands.
