So I have been on tennis hiatus for over a year. Now I want to get back into playing regularly (singles/doubles). Are there tennis centers in these areas where there are drop-in singles or have some sort of league play? I really want to play. I'm a self-rated 4.5 but probably lower since I haven't played in awhile

Members from these areas..where do you play at?

If you contact the USTA, you'll find that there are tons of USTA teams
in the area you listed. Lots of tournaments also. I think Burbank tennis
center has drop-in tennis once or twice a week also. Give them a call.
TW member alpinecadet is playing on a team. You can also contact him.

    I don't have any experience w/ tennislosangeles.com but I've played
several times at BTC. Very nice courts and they also have 2 clay courts.
I've seen the ads for tennislosangeles.com but haven't met anybody that
plays in their leagues so don't have any feedback on it. There is also
    a good tennis ladder:

It's run by the kid that used to be on Mr. Belvadere and he's a good guy.

I'm only deciding between the two because of a couple of reasons...

Either I pay season membership ($35) and drive all over LA county to play other players within a set amount of amounts..or

do I play at drop-in singles.. only driving to burbank (from glendale) but paying membership I believe and paying each time I play.. but have a more flexible schedule.. say play every other friday.....

    still thinking...

it's funny I was thinking maybe I'm too ambitious to play in leagues or drop-in's and that I should just go and find someone to hit with before I join to see how rusty I am...hehehe..

any of you guys interested in hitting?

You can also try craigslist, but it's a bit like chat roulette...
