Players Meet Pope John Paul II

    That's pretty cool. James Blake (before the injury, obviously), Arnaud Clement, Nicolas Lapentti, and Bob Bryan got to meet the Holy Father at the Telcomunia(sp) Masters in Rome. I'm guessing ,then, that all these guys are Catholic. That's pretty cool, and does players are really lucky. Hopefully after meeting the Pope, James can make a speedy recovery! Too bad he didn't have a papal blessing put on him...

I am doing fine and was pleased to hear positive news today from the doctors who are treating me here in Rome," Blake said. "There was no neurological damage and all reports indicate that I will be back on the court soon. I feel pretty lucky. It's probably a good thing I went to see the pope!"

    I wonder if they asked him for his autograph.

    If all these players suddely go on tremendous winning streaks, I may just look into this thing...
