ok, most off the shelf players racquets are very head light. however, ive gathered off of these boards that most pro racquets have a lot of lead under the bumper to make them very head heavy. why do they do this? is it advantageous? why are players frames sold as head light and not head heavy (some are) if it is?
  2. Because the weight and momentum can still be there while allowing a lot more people to be able to swing the racket.

PrestigeClassic is correct, but I'll bet the entire racquet is heavier in most cases, so even with the added mass around the hoop, the pro racquets are still head light.
