Hello, I am a sophomore currently at a division 3 university. I am interested in studying abroad in the fall of 2013. Does anyone have any experience of know anybody who has studied abroad and played for the tennis team? I am still unsure of where I want to travel to, but I only speak english so it would have to either be an english speaking country or a program taught in english. thanks for the help in advance

Most universities outside the USA do not have tennis teams. Occasionally, there is a rowing club or football (soccer) club team, but students go there to study, not play sports semi-professionally.

Schools in Europe do not have teams as stated you are there to study....what you do have in places like France, Begium, Germany, Holland...are clubs that play VERY competitive tennis. There are limits as to the number of non citizens on the teams - so depending on what country you decide to study in you can follow up with that tennis federation (like the FFT in France) and find a local club.

I live in The Netherlands and over here there are clubs where you will have to pay a membership fee in order to play at the courts.

At some places you can rent a court for a small amount of money.

I am going to play in a league next season with a team but this isn't university vs university. We will have to play against other clubs.

Besides those leagues there are tournaments for members of the Dutch Tennis Federation.
