Hey, does anyone here play tennis while wearing a watch? I have a Seiko kinetic watch, but it's not that comfortable to play tennis with because of the metal band. I would like to play tennis with a watch so I don't have to keep looking at my cell phone for the time. I was thinking about getting a watch around 100 bucks to play tennis with, and still be stylish like this Fossil: http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/men/watches/sport_watches/decker_black_chronograph-ch2573p.html?departmentCategoryId=30001&Ne=16&N=4294959034&Ns=p_msc0|0||p_weight|0&rec=1&pn=c&imagePath=CH2573

Anyone have a watch recommendation, or watch experience?

The absolute best watch while playing tennis is a Datejust. The weight is just pure dream.

The submariner or the GMT's are too heavy.

Anything with a plastic band does not let my skin breath while playing.

I love wearing my watch when I play. (But I never look at the time while rallying because it would be rude, giving the message that I got "something else to do" or "Somewhere else to be")

Hmm if only I could afford that lol. For right now, I'll have to stick to looking at the cheapos with decent quality. But, thanks for the reply, I didn't think somebody would use a Rolex for tennis!

I love the Seamaster, but not the 007 version. The equivalent is the Sea Dweller which has an automatic Helium release valve as opposed to the manual release valve on the seamaster.

But for average Joes like us, we will never dive at such depths.

I got a watch to coach with about 2 years ago. I then wore it while training, now it goes on when I wake up and comes off when I got to sleep. I wear it to play and everything.

Should see the delish tan line from it haha

Ha yeah, whenever I wear sweatbands I get tan lines like crazy, especially since I'm half Colombian.

^ BTW, my current (tennis) watch, an Armitron sports watch (below), is a bit cheaper at $20 and weighs in at a bit over 50 grams. Should I spend another 1/2 million dollars to get the weight down to 20 grams? Hmmm, gives one pause!

I think a watch is too small to be used instead of a racquet.

The current official rules of tennis don't allow for it anyway.

This is what the peasants are currently wearing while playing tennis. It is completely "solar-powered" = doesn't require batteries at all.

I think a good innovation will be to put a watch face on a tennis ball. Considering how coches talk about hitting from 6 to 12, 7 to 1 etc, I think the idea has great potential in training.

Wow that's actually very cool. Where can I get that?

EDIT: NVM... It wouldn't even work indoors!

^ The other drawback is that it only works on nights when you have a "true" full moon visible.

Rafa has disabled that feature on his watch

Hmm, yeah I'm lazy to set up my phone, and would rather have a watch while I teach tennis lessons.

    And sureshs, LOL.
