I've been using the APD for about a year and a half, after returning to the game after an 18 year sabattical. Love the racquet and the free power it provides. But lately, I have been noticing some tenderness/tightness in my elbow after playing. So I am thinking about demoing a couple of racquets. Based on your reviews, I was thinking about the following demos:

    1. Volkl V1 organix MP
    2. Donnay Formula.

I play mostly doubles, but play some singles. When I play singles, I generally play baseline with a semi western forehand and a 2 handed backhand, but do come to the net when the opportunity presents itself. Any other obvious frames for demo that I am missing?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations that you can offer.

    ArliHawk,

Those are actually the first two racquets that come to mind for me as well based on your description. I would also recommend the ProKennex Ki Q5 295 (one of the most comfortable racquets out there) and the Yonex VCORE 100 S (I might be biased on this one ). I also thought the Head YOUTEK Extreme MP 2.0 could be another possible option.

    Hope that helps!

Quick question, how does the Organix compare to the V1 classic? The classic looks a little heavier, which could ease the transition. I've hit with my wife's organix, and really liked the play of it.

    ArliHawk,

Chris and Siobhan have answered that question in a previous thread. They even compare it to the Babolat AeroPro Drive.

Thanks for the help. After demoing my wife's Organix V1 MP during a friendly doubles match last night, I went with it. It seemed to be just as powerful and stable as the APD, even if it is somewhat lighter.

    Thanks again!

    ArliHawk,

You are welcome! I still from time to time (after the playtest) pick up the Organix V1 MP to take out for a doubles match. It is such a fun racquet to play with. Also, I know Jason tinkered with adding some weight and customizing it a little bit.
