Thanks for the tips and the hospitality. Just got my first stringing machine (Klippermate) and started practising on a training racquet w/the sample strings. I can see that I will be breaking lots of strings and the machine will prob pay for itself w/in a few months along w/added convenience.

Bought some Weiscannon Scorpion at both 1.22 and 1.28 and will prob try the 1.28 first for the extra durability since the last alu job didn't last very long. Read a lot of good reviews for the string and hope it feels better than the alu. Otherwise I'll keep experimenting since I have the stringer now and I know I like the frame due to how it played on demo. Just a matter of time to find the right combo.

Someone from the Cheers production team is in. I just saw a 1989 episode called "Please Mr. Postman", in which Sam is trying to keep up with a young, athletic woman who comes into the bar carrying a Graphite OS 1-stripe. Beisdes being the older model (Prince had introduced the 4-stripe by then), it had a Donnay butt cap and stencil–presumably meaning they weren't able to get any money out of Prince for showing the racquet on the episode.

POG Mid (4 Stripe Version) - owned it since 1991.
Normally using PSGD 16/17 at 55-60Lbs.
Thinking of putting full poly (Adrenaline) in at 48 lbs... ...TBD.

    Hey POG lovers,

Which of the leather replacement grips available through TW (Dunlop, Gamma, Babolat, Head, Wilson, TW, Volkl, Pacific, Becker) is most like the one that comes stock on the current Tour version of the POG? Thanks.

Started with the OS tours, got the longbody, went to the exo3 graphites which are slightly different, now using a 4stripe mid with ProLine2 and gosen around 53lbs and some added lead at 10/2 and the handle. just a few inches to make it a little more polarized

    2 exo3 graphite 93
    1 exo3 graphite 100
2 POG OS tour (cracked one slightly, I got very angry)
1 POG longbody (wish I had more)
    1 POG mid 4-striper
1 POG OS 2nd generation single stripe (super flexy it seems)

really only play with the 4stripe as of right now.
3/8 with 3 overgrips for that inbetween 4/8-5/8.
roughly 4" of lead in the hoop, 2" each at 10 and 2, and another 4" in the handle for a little added weight and polarization.
currently strung with gosen 17-white and proline II 17-black @ 53/51.

    Count me in.

Saw the light after playing a LOT of different sticks including a TW Re-issue POG6 Mid. Didn't really care for the POG6 OS but need to spend more time with it. Recently bought a used POG4 Mid in good condition. That one is now my main stick with the POG6 Mid as backup. The POG4 is lighter than the POG6, more head heavy and plays heavier which I prefer. My actual strung measurements after adding an overgrip and rubber band dampener to each:

    POG4 Mid (4 stripe)
    Weight: 12.3 (4 HL)

    POG6 Mid (Tour - TW Re-issue)
    Weight: 12.5 (11 HL)

    POG6 OS (Tour - TW Re-issue)
    Weight: 12.6 (7 HL)

Don't have any other OS to compare it to. Might start playing around with leading up the POG6 Mid to see how customizing it compares to the POG4 Mid.

Ok, I'm in but I use the Chang oversize 28''. I was idiot and thought the exo graphite would be close to my POG. Dead wrong. I use syn gut/poly and it fits me perfect at 57lbs. The POGs are the best tool to do the job against any type of player..

My main stick nowadays is O3 White. However I have many POGs and love them.
2x OS 4 stripe, with lighter grips,
    1x Boron, absolute cannon,
2x M 4 stripe, which I like less then OS,
2x OS 1 stripe I recently gave away to my nephew...
    I guess, I'm a member too.

Hey guys. Count me in. I have two tour model POG mids. I was wondering what you are string with, given the really open string pattern.

I am posting in anticipation of my return. I have a reel of SPPP, and I will start with that. I have a baseline game, and require low tensions and spin to control the ball, as I rarely hit flat. Please let me know what polys you have tried to help me in my quest for Das Überracquet!

EDIT: This was my first players stick, and I was not good enough to use it. I am now beginning to appreciate it. What a racquet!

the "auction site" struck again - so in the mail are 4 one stripe POG mids, 2 1st series POG OS and a 2nd or 3rd series Boron.

    I think I'm done for a while....

    Changes...

2x OS 4 stripe, with lighter grips,
    1x Boron, absolute cannon,
2x M 4 stripe, which I like less then OS, one given away to a hitting partner,
2x OS 1 stripe I recently gave away to my nephew...
1x rare OS "Straight Shaft" joined the herd. Modified to lighter grip, too.

I played the POG OS for 3 yrs and switched to the mid last year and have loved the mid ever since.

I've heard a lot of positive posts about the Volkl c10 pro recently, so I couldn't resist the urge and purchased 2 c10 pros (2010 version). After, hitting with the c10 pro for a couple of hours of doubles, my initial impression is that my POG mids (TW reissue) feel and play a lot better than the c10 pro.

The c10 pros felt nice and hefty, and flexible. Coming from a POG mid, I still like the feel, control, and manueverability of the POG mid. Surprisingly the c10 pros swing weight (325) felt noticeably heavier than my POG Mid (TW reissue 328)? Their static weight are similar, both 343 grams (TW), I believe.

I suppose it will take some time getting use to (c10 pro), along with experimenting w/diff string set-ups. One thing I just couldn't understand was, i felt like I was consistently missing the sweet spot on the c10 pro (98 sq in) vs. the POG mid (93 sq in) i'm hitting the sweet spot effortlessly.

I'm using a tour oversize right now strung with tecnifibre black code at 60. I'm having trouble generating power especially on my serve. Any stringing recommendations? With such a large string bed, I'm afraid to go much lower regarding tension

IMHO the crucial difference between them two is the shape on the head that gives the POG an big big advantage on defensive shots... the width of the POG is higher than the K90 allowing easier defensive shots.

With the k90 one ha to be spot on centering the ball, with the POG Mid one has much more leeway (compared to the K90)...

Also the polarized balance of the POG lends itself to easier swinging....

"When you strike the ball cleanly with the K90, it's very rewarding. The POG doesn't quite give you that same satisfaction, " - I don't really agree, I think both give that positive feedback, it's a matter of subjective taste.

ive got two of the POG 107s that TW is currently clearing out and one PCG 100. the 100 is the easier to swing of the two, but the 107 has more ball-blasting potential at the end of the day.

Same boat for me. Finally started to dial in lead placement to bring up the power level. Might not be my go to, but will be available just in case. Agree with N8dawg6 re: the OS. I can pull that out and just start b%$ch slapping returns.

POG "110" 1 stripe tear drop user here. Strung 'er up with Big Hitter tourna poly 17 @ 63. Just started up again after a a 5 year layoff and currently using this as my go to stick while trying out some others. Modern classic that has aged better than I have over the last 30 years.... Plays awesome with modern stiff polys, gives it a level of control not possible when they first came out (with the possible exception of problend back in the day-I'm lookin' at you Agassi:)) IMHO.

Revision. 5 POG Tour (most recent) 3 POG Straight Shaft all mids.

I guess they are my holy grail frame. Doesn't make sense. I have tried 5 or 6 other frames in the past month or so and I keep going back to this frame.

Been in my arsenal since 1987. I've strayed away many times, including recently- I'm really enjoying my Pure Control 95 pluses lately. I've still got my POGOS' sitting in my closet in case of a zombie apocalypse.

I'm interested your POG setups. When I play with mine, I usually use volkl cyclone 17g at or around 50lbs, depending on the weather. Didn't really appreciate the POG OS until I started playing over 40 tourneys. I'm still a 5.0 but many over 40 4.5-5.0s play the push game with their Pure Drives. I started using my POGs again to bi£ch slap these guys from the baseline. It pounds that little round piece of rubber and felt so nicely through the air, only with the POG can I hit through the court. God, I love her!

I am a 4.5 (45 yo) Baseliner my set up is kind of old school (ish). Most of the time I am playing OGSM 17 or 18 full bed or Klip Gut Mains and OGSM 17 crosses. My arm is sensitive to Poly at this point in my tennis life. Its such a great frame I just bought another one yesterday (I Have 5 of the POG Tour mid latest release and 3 of the POG Straight Shaft 20th anniversary release). I totally agree with you she is very lovable.

Full poly setups on these sticks (I use the POG Mid) feels just awful - It might give a bit more zip to the ball but feels awful - or... I've tried the wrong full poly setups...

Although I did demo the PCG 100 with a full bed of Prince XP beast (if I recall right) and had probably my best win in some years - was very pleasantly surprised with the behaviour of the stringbed - not unconfortable at all and more "zip" than usual.

Personally I string POG with at least one element of the "old days" just to ground the feel of the racket within my muscle memory - so I usually string hybrid with either a synth gut or nat gut on the mains. I tried a gut / poly hybrid (outdoors in dry weather) and I must confess it was probably the best compromise I found between old-school and current tech.

Now that the claycourt season has started over here, I'm thinking about stringing up my POG OS 4-stripe with Solinco Hyper G 18. Any tension recommendations? 60 mains, 58 crosses?

I'm in. Got my 3rd PCG107, Babolat VS Touch 60lbs, boxed up my 6 Volkls for storage and gave away the last 6 Wilsons I had. Hopefully the PCG 107 gromments will last me a long while. Otherwise I'll be back to C10 Pros which give me less fun on the court than the PCG 107s.

I just got my 4th POG/PCG OS used from TW. The other 3 PCG 107s I got from TW and at least one was used. Of those 3 all are PCGs, the reissued ones. This last one was listed by TW under PCG 107 but it is the slightly older style called Prince Tour. I note a few cosmetic differences but the racket, except for the butt cap, seems the same as the more recent PCG 107s. Doesn't bother me but was figuring I would be getting another PCG 107 recent reissue, but got this slightly older POG instead. Great shape, original grip and had a sticker from the Indianapolis Racquet Club, strung with some 3 yr old poly hybrid. I guess the question is what is the difference between a POG and PCG and what year of production did this difference appear?

Under the paint, the "Tour Series" POG is exactly the same as the current Prince Graphite Classic 107.
