    I think:
-- the original version had one green stripe
-- verion 2 had four green stripes (the one you referenced)
-- the latest has one fat green stripe and a thin gold stripe

    POG history

    Hi,

I was told this by a TW staff a while ago.

    1. 1st generation (one green stripe) - 78-87
    2. 2nd generation (4 stripes + golden logo) -87-93/4?
    Discontinued (really?)
    3. Reintroduced (TW+Prince effort). One green + one thinner golden stripe+ big goldern logo. I guess TW managed to pursuade Prince to make more. Also I heard this #3 generation racquet is slightly lighter than older ones. I hope this helps! Tenny

So does that mean version 1 (one stripe) and version 2 (4 stripes) are the same in every way except cosmetics? Does anyone know the official weight of all of these versions (strung and unstrung)?

    Thanks.

I have POG mid that falls into the second category. I think that the 1st and 2nd versions are more similar to each other than if you compare the newer version to 1 or 2. It is said that the newer version feels a little lighter.

I can tell you official weight for the second version as it is said on the original label that comes with the new racquet.

    AVG.WEIGHT: Frame 330g / 11.85 oz.
AVG WEIGHT: Strung 345g /12.15 oz.

Now that's odd. The TW specs for the new POG Mid says 12.1 oz. Wouldn't that be similar to the version 2 if it states the weight being 12.15 oz.? Does .05 oz. make that much of a difference? Maybe the balances are different from version to version.

Does anyone have 2 (or all 3) versions to compare side-by-side? Weight, swingweight, balance, etc. would be nice.

Thanks to anyone who is kind enough to do this.

rosine, sorry, I only have the newest MP version and I can confirm it weighs exactly 12.1 ozs. strung with Lux ALU Power. The OS version is just a little heavier(.1-.2 ozs).

Thanks Gaines for confirming this. I will be making a direct comparsion this weekend. I currently have version 2 (the one with 4 stripes). I just ordered the newest version and should be arriving this weekend. I will string both at the same time and with the same string and tension. I don't have an electronic scale but I will be just testing how each "feels" when hitting. I probably test balance but I don't understand the whole "9 pts. head light" stuff. So, I guess I will be 'eye-balling' most of my conclusions.
