As the title asks, feel free to vote on the poll and comment why below.

I'd choose 4 1/2 because it's perfect size for me.

My favorite grip size is the one that fits my hand, because it fits my hand and doesn't bother my elbow. (4 1/2)

Most likely the 3/8ths and the 1/2 would get majority...imo.

I buy sticks in 4 1/4. My hand is between 4 3/8 and 4 1/2, But I apply 2 overgrips on so it all works out well for me.

4 5/8 with an overgrip. People say that's just too much but it feels right to me.

    Best for volleying and overheads....
    Makes little difference in serves...
I don't think I can swing fast enough to use smaller grips. Some would say smaller grips allow faster swings, but they aren't blind like me and have dying reactions.

4 1/2 + 2 or 3 overgrips. Despite having not huge hands, I like my grips large. Hurt my elbow with a too small grip, I probably would use a 4 9/16 or so in a perfect world though. I'm one of those in-between sizes. Kind of like my shoes.

This, also a larger grip size tends to allow your racket to be more stable during a shot and allows you to hit flatter shots at the cost of spin due to less wrist flick that you would get with a smaller grip.

I like small and flat grips. I like a volkl at 4 1/4.

Right now play a heavy prince that's 4 1/8. It's pretty rectangular at that size.

Yup! I find with a 4 5/8 + OG it can still be usable, but nothing gives my elbow the comfort as a 4 1/2 plus a Tourna Grip. :)

I have a 5 inch grip and it's still too small for my hands.

Get a 4 3/4, add like 5 overgrips. Serious. Each overgrip is HALF a whole grip size, getting five would be like 5 1/16.

Prince grip 5 (4 5/8) plus and overgrip.

Bigger grip is safer on hand and I see no drawbacks.

    I don't get it?

Isn't this like asking - "What is your shoe size and why?"

Um...it's because that's the size that fits my foot/hand?

Players use to choose grip size based on what fit their hands, now some chose smaller grip size due to the wrist flick that a smaller grip affords you like Rafael Nadal. What is your favorite contact lens prescription and why?

Actually Im glad someone finally asked this question.

I cut out sections of telephone poles and have them professionally attached to my racquets. Center hollowed out and filled with uranium because lead just isnt heavy enough for my giant man hands. Oh also an overgrip, not for comfort but because they are still a little too small without it.

There is 4 3/4 in some Boris Becker and Volkl rackets, TW actually have them to sell I think.

Nadal also wears tennis shoes that are two sizes too small for his foot (really). Just because some pro does something ridiculous does not mean that anyone else should. :)

4 1/2 plus overgrip for me. Whatever grip you choose so that you are not squeezing your hand too tightly to hold the racket will be the correct size I was told.

If you read my 2nd reply to this thread, you can see that I just want to view some forum members' opinions. I totally feel you, though. Heck, I may just start a shoe size thread too!(jk)

But seriously, not just because it fits your hand, there are, stated by other replies, that it gives flick, control, firmness. Your hands may be too small for one size, but some people like a bigger grip. You get what i'm trying to say?

Started out using 1/2, even went to 5/8 briefly....now that I play western I'm down to 1/4 (with og)!

By the book (one finger space), my grip size is 4 1/2 with overgrip.

Also, if your in between sizes, I know there are some companies that can make custom pallets to your correct grip size. :)

Just a little thought in case some people were considering it!

(By the way, wear shoes that are your proper fit. Nadal is a freak of nature with his sizing. Everything seems two sizes too small...)

That's pretty cool :p I thought it was only for Volkl and Head only or something. I might go check it out :p

Yeah, too big leads to lots of friction = blisters and too small also give blisters.

i like the bell curve of a graph that there is. 4 3/8 is great! Not too big and not too small, and if im trying to find a racket im highly likely to find one in that grip since its the most common.

Dabbled with 4 5/8 with OG, but I'm back down to 4 1/2 with OG. I wasn't able to get the wrist movement with the 4 5/8 that I had become accustomed to.

I can play with a 4 1/2 but prefer a 4 5/8 (both with overgrip) because it feels natural and comfortable. I don't get the trend towards 4 3/8 by big guys like Federer and Nadal (I'm sure that their hands are bigger than mine).

1/2 because i have smaller hands but 1/2 HEAD grip is perfect. When i used prince i had to use a smaller grip, under 3/8, because i didnt like the grip shape.

By measurement, 4 5/8 is probably my correct grip size, but I feel most comfortable with 4 3/8 + OG or 4 1/2 bare.

4/8, with or without overgrip. Volley is my game, groundies not. Serve makes little difference.
