    It also depends on the courts, the ones that I've found most difficult being the ones at Dolores park (sp); where the wind pushes the ball sideways among eight courts and people run like headless chicken trying to chase the loose balls...My timing is always affected first time I hit there.

    For me it's once I've slipped in them and I can tell it was because of the shoe's lack of traction. (usually it's when I've slipped twice in the same match/hitting session, then I order the replacements.)

    More like they don't know how to behave on courts, i.e. they enter your court during the point and might get wacked accidentally etc.

    I wear two pairs of Nike Dri-Fit, it doesn't get much padded than this.

    Used to open the tight spot of the uppers with a razor blade. Just be sure to remove your feet first.

    I play on synthetic clay courts, and as such, my shoes get worn out on the inside rather than on the outside. The insole gets worn through under the balls of my feet.
