Poly strings going dead

Semi-Pro
I am playing with all sonic pro 17 (1.25) and after about 8 hours or so the things just went dead. Previous to this setup, I was using a hybrid (luxilon and gut). Is it just the nature of all poly strings that after about 10 hours of hitting they go dead? I know sonic pro is a soft poly, but would there be a "big" difference form a string like that so lets say...luxilon?

The gut in you previous setup gave you longer life. Poly start off fairly dead and drop like any other string , when they are unplayable varies from player to player. Remember, polys were used by players who would break other strings in less than 8 hours, so 8 to 10 hours is great for them.
