Will that encounter take place, and if so, what outcome are you expecting?

  4. I can definetely see Soderling beating Nadal, a lot depends on the way he serves

Then don't ask for people's opinions and start stupid threads.

Here,,,,, is this better for you???>>>>>>

If Sodelring is able to win more points, therefore resulting in more games, and as such>> more sets than Nadal>>> he will win. If he isn't able to do this, Nadal will win.

I think in the end it will come to Soderling's first serve %.

I'll probably root for Nadal since I don't really like Robin and would like another Nadal-Novak match.

^^^^^ Because you asked what outcome is being expected between these two players. Do you have memory loss problems?? Perhaps you need to see a specialist about this.

no, this is just a crappy thread. One in which you are posting a spoiler, as both matches are over.

Actually your post is the first and only true spoiler in this thread. But the thread should probably moved regardless.

I have a bad feeling for Rafa. Soderling is a monster hitter and Rafa isnt dealing with pace that well on HCs right now. Either Rafa wins a close three setter or Soderling crushes in 2.

Yep if anyone spoiled anything in this thread it's drakulie.

Nadal was still not serving that hard in beijing. In the robredo match I think nadal was serving harder more often. I will check out the serving numbers when they are posted to see if this is true. If nadal and soderling meet at some point I think it will be a close win for nadal on this type of surface. Very likely at least one tiebreaker.

Go look at the second post in this thread!

You started this thread immediately after both matches were over, and knew who the winners were. Just because you used the word, "possible" in your OP, doesn't excuse it.

and my "prediction" in post # 3 still stands. Let me know if my prediction doesnt' pan out.

Here is another momo, acting as though he doesn't know who the winners are, yet is talking about the outcome of one of the matches, which happened after the first match.

If they meet again, I like Soderling b/c he’s in Nadal’s head. Plus, if Nadal can lose on his best surface(clay) he certainly can lose on hard court.

i hope nadal is inspired(he should be) and plays some great tennis like he did against monfils and gonzalez at the uso - with a plan and with good execution,i voted for nadal in three (close) sets

Year end event is usually played on a pretty slow court, so I'd give the edge to Nada.

The odds are stacked against Nadal. I'll just name off the obvious few that stand

    -Hardcourts are Nadal's kryptonite
-Shoddy serves are a huge liability, especially on hard
-Heavy hitters mess with Nadal, expect the hard courts to only help them
-Nadal's tendancy to resort to defence when playing heavy hitters might take over, moonballing won't win sets.
-Potential mental block by Nadal. Going against the one guy that beat you at the french and shattered your shield of invincibility, thats huge! Although Nadal's a mental rock, shouldn't have too much of a impact

Soderling in 3. There's just too much going against Nadal at this point

If that meeting were to happen and Soderling's serve and FH are on fire, Nadal will lose.

Nadal hopes Lopez can beat Söderling because I have a bad feeling about this match for Nadal.

I had already voted that Nadal would have gotten his revenge and destroyed Soderling which is what he would have done. Soderling was totally outclassed today by an impressive Lopez though so Nadal wont even have to carry out that task he was set to.

soderling won't be in any hurry to face nadal, he'll milk this fake ownership for as long as he can, same with federer's madrid win, he'll use it to convince himself that nadal no longer has the edge, even though nadal himself has said he shouldn't have even played madrid in that physical condition, and that was doubly the case after the recordbreakingly long djokovic semifinal
