Hope Fabfed gets them and shows the forum the GSOAT with the best PJ ever.
never seen nike reuse the wimbledon shoes at the us open
^They were lazy this time.
in´95 Agassi used the same shoes for wimbledon and for his day matches at the Us Open.
The same goes for ´99
The good thing is that you save 120 bucks, because you use the same shoe for both outfits.
They go quite well though. Look at it this way, at least they're not trying to milk it this year by releasing even more colourways
interesting.....they have a CB 2.3ish tread pattern on the soles, with the CB 3.3 upper. I guess it's actually a custom outsole mold because it's not exactly like the 2.3 either.
It just amazes me how detail oriented Nadal can be....how much difference can a tread pattern on a sole really make?
I was thinking it was a different outsole, 'cause the retail 3.3s don't have that pattern.
Yeah, definitely a custom mold for Rafa, I've not seen that exact tread pattern on any retail shoe. Most resembles the CB 2.3 outsole, but modified.
I wonder what would happen if we gave fed and rafa the retail versions of there shoe?
we would break their sensitive feet
I'm really tired of Nike trying to change the paintjob of the current Vapor 8 and saying its Roger Federer's shoe. Its so obvious that he doesn't even wear these shoes! Why not just supply the public with what he actually wears. I'm still a big fan of the old Vapor VI
Masses of people just do not know the difference between custom and sold in stores, so Nike did not announce it publicly because it and why.
Are those the WTF ones?
@ Mozart You payed a sh1tload for those right?
Did you get them from the Roger Federe Locker room WTF bidding thing on the bay?
No, those are the pics from the auction
Absolutely agree !
Selling the vapor 8 under the "Federer" name, or "Federer's shoes of choice" is weird !!!!
...Actually I thought it was ridiculous because, as it's supposed to be this year's Fed shoes, nobody on the Tour can wear them... But it was before I see French player Benneteau wearing the Gridiron spring V8 at the Paris Bercy Masters... Little did I know other players were allowed to wear them.
What do you think they will do with the v9s? They look a lot different than all the other vapors so how will they disguise them for fed?
Are you talking about the silver ones???
No, I mean "all" the Vapors 8...
All are sold under the "Federer shoes", right ?
And they're not Federer's shoes at all.
At least they "paintjobed" the AO11 and USO11 for they look like the retail version, but most of the time we clarly can see it's totaly different shoes.
Rafa's shoes after his match with Tsonga.
These are quite nice.
this makes me miss my 2.3's so much
3.3's just are not as good
thanks for the pics!
These are sick 1.3 or 2.3
Nadal's huge tongues look ugly imo
Rhino this picture is old, but mayby someone didn't see.
I wonder how that bruise will affect rafa?
Gosh darn it dude, even the Swoosh on his custom Nike socks match his shoes. Come on now! That's downright incredible!
This thread needs to go back to being just Federer and Nadal...
Theses photos were taken on Sunday 22nd Jan, 2012, at the Australian Open. Federer was practicing on court 17...
Federer's custom Nike Vapor S2 from 2004.
These are at a shoe museum in Toronto.
OT: Can you imagine the wrist action/racquet speed coming right after this pic?
It's actually more forearm action than wrist action. The wrist is just laid back, the forearm makes for all the rotation
Photos of Roger's Wimbledon 2007 shoes that were on display at Wimbledon Museum back in 2007
Roger's and Murray's shoes from Wimbledon 2009. Photos again taken at Wimbledon Museum.
