i prefer the hextreme. way easier to string with. spin potential with the hextreme is not as good, but i like the feel and playablity of the hextreme way better.

this set up looks so cool with the donnay line as it is almost an identical color match to the shiny portions of the frames

I decided to treat myself and strung this up earlier this week:

The full size version is here.

It's Pacific Prime Gut in the mains with MSV Co-Focus crosses, both 16ga. Should be pretty dreamy.

looking good. Let us know how it goes. What's the reasoning behind 16g on both sets?

I've always used 16ga natural guts. They've got loads of playability, so I've never really considered sacrificing durability to go for a thinner gauge. Pacific Prime costs about 10x my usual BHB7, so I naturally want to get as much from it as I can.

As for the crosses, I want to maximize life before they go dead (to keep up with the gut as well as possible). In my experience, thicker strings take longer to go dead than thinner strings. That said, I'll probably end up restringing just the crosses while the gut is still in good shape.

I was this close to posting the strings and tension then I realized I too can read :)

I know RPM has a bad rep but I swear the Team holds up way better than Blast.

Here's a pic after 6 weeks of play and right after a two hour session where I didn't straighten the strings. They were still snapping back into place and control was still excellent. The durability is incredible. About a week after this pic was taken is when I decided the playability started to degrade to the point I should cut them out.

Damn 4 sticks and strings last 6 weeks or more?
Do you only string rackets every 5 moths?

I string them every 6-7 weeks when the strings stop snapping back into place or when they break. I play about three times a week around 2 hours each session and sometimes league tennis. Before I switched to poly hybrids I was playing TNT 16 and they would last about 2-4 hours in the YT Rad Pros which is why I have the four racquets. With the longevity of the gut/poly hybrid four racquets does feel like a bit of overkill.
