I honestly have no idea why Luxilon made two gauges of the string. That makes no sense at all to me.

A question for you though, why are you using power pads on the poly mains, just to damp the feel a bit?

I will be testing a gut mains setup tonight courtesy of levy1. I will use my reference standard cross poly, CoFocus.

You planning photographing it? I love the look of co focus, especially in blue rackets.

I initially tried the 4G in an all 16 setup. Just thought I'd try this out if it would give me a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more bite. Haven't played with it much yet, other than light hitting. I loved this strings ball pocketing. If my local shop had a 17 I would've used that in the mains.

I know it doesn't make sense to have powerpads without a gut or multifilament, but I have been using them since high school (late 90's). I have been demoing full bed polys the past 3-4 months. In the initial all 16 4G string Job I didn't have the power pads in there. I put them back on because I missed the signature, I can only call a "creaky snap" on impact. It wasn't for a deader feel, it was just the sound and response it gave me which always gave me confidence when hitting the ball. I used to use multifilament mains, and I never used dampeners. Maybe its just an old habit I just can't break?!

Current stringjob, B5E mains, Yonex Poly Tour Pro crosses, @ 43. I have one black Yonex PTGP reel coming, so the stringjob will look better, I promise.

Am I the only person who noticed that the outer 2 mains are a different color than the others?

Yep, you just leave the 2 (or 1 is possible) outer mains short. Then do an "Around the world" method.

I don't find any real benefits other than cosmetic with this whole stringing method, I just do it for fun. Although i'm sure that people who like to play with their tension and string type will feel a difference.

Could you take a picture further back? I'm just wondering how the colors look on an IG Prestige.

    Third Time Is Charm...sorry Folks!

Let's try this one. This is Volkl Cyclone in my son's Roland Garros APD racquet. I think it is a pretty "fun" string job.

Now I don't have a picture of this but I was a ballkid at my local challenger and Wayne Odesnik had Black mains and his crosses were purple and orange. If you have any idea how he can do that i would like some insight.

Cyclone Pink with the Hope dampener. Support the battle against cancer. Wilson Ripsin in the back ground.

I will take pics with my DSLR next time to really earn a spot in this thread...I was just excited to show the pink string. It actually looks like a neon red.

    ^ Nice, London 98. :)

Too bad the 93 frames are long gone. The Big E sellers are asking way too much... I called Volkl, and they told me that more grommets and frames will be re-stocked by mid-October. :(

How does the 90s feel with full-bed poly? I almost thought about demoing them with poly strings.

I prefer poly for the boxed ATW and multi for the remaining crosses. :)
