Haven't rocked two racquets since high school but have recently gotten back into the game in a big way playing about 8 hours a week. Also have been riding the demo train lately trying out all the popular sticks. I have a hard time getting too far away from the Head brand (I've never hit a Babolat but I'm excited to try the new Aero). Anyways my collection is from left to right Head Ti Heat (x2), Head MG Radical MP, Head IG Speed 300, and Head IG Radical Pro. Also using Adiddas Barricades and Head micro gel series 6 pack bag. Best apparel I've come across are basic Under Armour shirts.
Nice Heads! How do you like the IG Radical Pro? And how does it compare to the MG Radical MP?
Oh, and welcome to the forum! - Just recently got registered myself...
I really enjoy the Rad Pro and its my current racquet of choice. The added weight from my MG Rad MP helped my put the ball deeper in the court which is something I've always struggled with. I'm now running through different string setups to see what I prefer right now have full bed of sonic pro but it has lost it's tension very quickly. Think a full bed of NXT is next, then into the world of hybriding. Thank you very much for the welcome. This site has given me a lot of info and insight over the last few months.
I have a similar feeling about my MG Rad MP and MG Rad Pro. Right now, the Pro is my main stick, and it just feels perfectly right. Think it's the combination of the added weight, the open string pattern, and maybe even the thinner beam (20 vs 21 mm on the MG Rads), but the latter probably doesn't really matter...

a few more shots of the donnay x-platinum 94
No, there's no black friday sale here. But my friend is head dealer so I got a special discount.
i´ve played with with this last year, very unique racquet, super flexible and and comfortable.
The grip felt a bit weird (smaller, probably because the small buttcap) so i ended selling them...
yea just rub it in!!!!
i don´t like clay courts (tierra batida o polvo de ladrillo) because the game is slooooooooow and in winter, when it´s raining you can´t use this kind of surface during a few days. i prefer hard
I had two of these for sale and no one wanted them...
What are the specs on this X-Platinum 94 ?
Is it just me or do all Donnays just look like crap? Don't get me wrong, they may play good, I just hate the way they look.
i find them to be among the nicest looking frames on the market.. jmo though
specs on the platinum are 330 310 61 on mine
its probably too heavy for most players... in the right hands though this thing is a beast... i'll take this all day over prostaff, prestige, etc.
really? have you held one in person?
Yes, I have. Don't know what it is about them.
Yeah, I'm just weird about racquets. They're real solid racquets though. Play really good too
well everyone is different. no big deal.
post your rackets!
Here's one of my rackets. didn't strung it cuz i don't want to waste my strings when i have finals to study for in 2 weeks.
you use a lot of tape
tons of it. reason why i put the head tape on the sides because i don't want the sides to get scratched. also, i like the cap grommets. so, i decided to add it on the sides
Prostaff looks weird with the black tape
ohh i thought you molded teh tape. but its real cap grommets. interesting
a little holiday hybrid for yall
What strings are those?
solinco outlast / luxilon savage
Just got my Pure drive 2012 today
hehe you got them on sale
the bag and shoes
Yea man for sure. I have one x-Blue 99, and in my humble opinion, it's the prettiest frame I've ever seen. Honestly, it's the only frame I've ever bought based on looks alone. I've never strung it up because I'm afraid I will like it too much LOL. I just pushed all my chips in and stocked up with nine Pro Ones and I am in no position to be switching frames having just splurged on a 10 year supply of sticks.
are you still playing with the blue99?
I still have, it but I've never hit with my x-Blue99. I ordered it for a demo, meant to get it strung up, but fell in love with the Pro One in the interim. I've been playing with the Pro One since this past summer, it's really elevated my game and my arm likes it too.
oh cool. yea donnays are awesome.
Are all your pro ones specs similar? Are you just slapping on the leather grips on them and nothing else?
I have 3 pro ones and playing well with them but I had to tweak them a bit to match in wt and balance. Specs seem to vary somewhat, not horrible but I expected better. I also noticed that specs listed on the sticker aren't all that accurate
Under that bumper the paint is messed up right ... i seen it happen when u remove it.
Yeah I know, tolerances are not super great but are still within the + or - 7 grams industry standard. What isn't standard is having the cohones to measure and indicate the specs of every frame rolling off the line. Given that bold and audacious practice I expect they will tighten things up a bit in the future.
The first three I obtained from flea bay and from TT classifieds, and wasn't quite sure at the time what specs I'd like. Having figured that out, I obtained my last six as a special order directly from the VP of manufacturing at Donnay. With those last six I indicated my desired specs and acceptable tolerance range. Because I was looking for flexier than average, lighter than average, and as headlight as possible, I had to wait 3 months for the next big batch to roll off the line.
From there I have everything I need to get them to a perfect match: Balance board, scales, lead tape and patience. With past frames I've leaded up to the 345-360 sw range, to get some oomph and stability. The P1 feels awesome right out of the box at 327, with just the 10+ gram buttcap, and a dampener. I don't use leather grips anymore, I use a somewhat unique combination of comfort grips which weighs about the same.
Cloudy day here in Jackville, I might post some pics when the sun decides to visit the Chicago area, and if there is any interest.
Thank you for your response.
I also opted to tail weigh by adding varying amts of blu tac like putty to match my racquets. Just have 1gm at 12 o'clock to bring it to right at 12.0 oz strung with og and a dampner. I feel like the head comes around a bit faster with this set up.
jack-did you get my message?
Not much has really changed in a while but I thought I'd post a money shot cause I've been feeling left out!
Nice, Gonzo...so glad you skipped the horrible all-yellow models!
Everyone should stay away from yellow racquets.
Actually, i'm not a great fan of the original bumblebee c10's, but i love the black ones, specially the 2012 (because i loved the tour 10 paintjob)
Oh man... you have a Prince Precision Tuning Center. I'm green with envy. Would love to have one of those.
My little collection, excluding a wilson agressor, whom was in my bag at the moment
What's the triple threat in front? Pretty cool looking.
Its a Deliverance MP, I freaking loved that racket, cant find anything alike.
The whole thing twisted on a poorly struck serve that catched the frame. I guess it had some kind of crack.
Okay, I will say that this is the coolest Donnay I've ever seen. I really like simplicity on this one
