Thanks. When i started posting @ TW there were lots of posters who posted nice pictures. Now it's a lost art.

All of the dunlops have leather, the M-Fils have TW and the 200 lite's have dunlop leather. The leather brings the bio's up to 343g with og/dampener, and the M-Fil's are at 338g.

Same here. This and the pictures of apparel and shoes are what brought me here. But the community is amazing too.

For me, that's what kept me visiting this page in the beginning, too (before I got an account). I was amazed by the sheer abundance of pictures of rackets and other stuff. Felt like a child in a toy store exploring every single shelf :) And of course this was fueled by my discovering tennis again after a long, long hiatus.
Now I'm mainly coming here to find out about new equipment. But it's always the racket pics (and specs) that I love most. So that's why I really appreciate guys like TSP for posting great pics of their stuff.

So I tried these "power pads" today, and I can say two things:

    1. Power Pads are completely useless for dampening any vibrations or reducing the ping noise.
    2. In a BLX ProStaff 90, they make me look like a douchy 3.5 Fed fanboy wannabe.

Overall, not a good experience at all.
Can't wait to cut the strings in a few days, to get rid of these stupid power pads.

For those who like pictures, here's one:

    Power Pads suck!

I don't think the power pads were meant to reduce vibrations or pings. The reason they are called "power" pads is because they lengthen the mains slightly for an increase in power.

No.. They used power pads back in the days for wooden racquets. It was to prevent the sharp edge on the racquet from cutting the string. No reason why Fed does it now since racquets these days dont have that problem.

I think there should be a portion of TT where all threads are just lists of different clubs. A lot better than looking for them individually.

I have used leather pads in the past when I hybrid with a multi in the mains, and I found there to be a subtle amount of dampening and pin reduction.

Not sure if this is the same cat from the other thread, but, not only do we need the swingweight on the cat, but we also need the balance of the cat.

Does the feather make it more or less aerodynamic?

It is. It's a manly dampener.

So do I. All new TF rackets have these, I guess.

Are there actually brands that make power pads still or is it some mini DIY project?

To be honest, the BX2 version of this frame feels and plays pretty much the same as the first one to me. I wouldn't be surprised if all they did was update the cosmetics on this. Tremendous racket, though.

Good to see a high quality pic at least. Too many cheap mobil phone pics litter this thread

custom BOSWORTH anyone? match spec'd to prestige classic 600. Plays very much like a prestige classic 600 (siliconed in handle)

Just my small collection, was a lot bigger but I got rid of a few frames to make way for new ones!
Left to Right. Head PT57A (Led Removed from loop and around 10G taken from the handle) 4 Head YouTek IG Instinct MP uncustomised, 1 x Babolat 2013 Pure Drive GT! I do have another of these but it's on its way back from the Warranty department! 3 Head YouTek Prestige's (One frame is sadly broken) 2 Head Microgel Prestige MP
    [IMG]
These babies are my current rackets. 2 Uncustomized YouTek Prestige MP. One strung with Alu Power Rough Mains and VS Touch Crosses. Other is Pacific Champ One Mains and Tough Gut crosses
    [IMG]
Then the beautiful HEAD PT57A Which I used for around a month before putting it away! Customized to 320G with Lead removed from Hoop and a small amount taken from the handle
    [IMG]

    Enjoy! :)

Here's my current racquet (Wilson US Open).

However, I am in the market for an upgrade (new or used?).
(Click here to view my post!), and help me in my racquet quest :) Thanks!

Collecting frames could be addictive and if you want "players" frames you have to spend lot of money...

Yes it adds up. I paid quite a bit for a NOS APD original and a reissue Jack Kramer in graphite with wood graphics.

But still a LOT cheaper than guitars and amps.

Definitely agree with this. I used to be a touring bassist, and my rig cost me more than I've spent in tennis in 5 years... Haha!
