This is the Quantum Tour 10:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20030618103942/www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCVOLKL-Q10T.html

This is the Tour 10 Gen 1 MP (it also came in a mid):

    http://web.archive.org/web/20040606025000/www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCVOLKL-T10.html

Some of the Tour 10 Gen 1s have "Quantum" written on them and some don't. I don't remember if it was the earlier or later versions. It's the same racquet with or without the "Quantum."

However, some of the earlier versions of the Tour 10 Gen 1 have "Volkl" written in red while Later models have "Volkl" written in black. The reds are heavier than the blacks. I don't think by too much. Ask Nobadmojo he's the expert.

**See 0d1n's and Ericsson's comments below. There is no red - black cosmetic coding on the Gen 1. I was wrong.**

The rackets in the picture are Tour 10 Gen I's. I have 3 of them myself, but I have the version with the Volkl and Tour decals instead of Volkl and Quantum.
The rackets are the same...just produced in different years.

Snoopy, see above. I think you're confusing things a little bit. All the 10 Gen I MP frames have "Volkl" written in white as far as I know, some have Quantum, some have Tour written on the "shoulders" of the racket (also in white). They also have TOUR (white) and Mid Plus (red) at the top of the hoop.

The red/black color you're referring to (I think) is related to the Gen II frame, which had a version with "Mid Plus" written in black and one with "Mid Plus" written in red at the top of the hoop. One of those (the black...as far as I remember) was heavier swinging than the other.

Od1n is correct, quantum or tour is the the same, also about the black/red midplus, is only on the gen II, the gen 1 was only in red script.

Those 2 are the Radical Tour TwinTube, actual from 1995. But they are still my primary racquet for everyday hit. I still have 4 of them in total. If you can find some at $5 in reasonable condition, I would pay you 10 for it.

That 98 Radical Tour TwinTube is MP, I don't have any OS keep with me.

Quantum tour 10 grommets a fit for the volkl C7?

Thanks guys, that clears things up a bit. The racket in the picture has 18 mains, so does that mean its the 93 Sq. inch version of the Tour 10 Gen 1?

The reason I was interested is that I suspect that the grommets fron the Quantum tour 10 (silver and black) may fit some of my Volkl C7's.

Also, did the quantum tour 10 have wrap around grommets...it would be wicked if I could cram those onto my C7's, effectively making a Volkl prestige!

I put a lot of lead in the hoop, so having wrap around grommets would make things much more simple.

    RD ti-70

    In D Zone,
How does your ti-70 mid play? I just acquired a couple of the 98 square inch versions and so far I am having fun with them. I cut one down to 27 inches and am working with lead to make it around 7 points head light.

A little too flexy in the upper hoop, I am hoping lead at 3 and 9 will take care of that.

Ti 70 Mid is a low powered racquet - Since the head is a mear 88 inch - any mishit means a dead ball; it demands your attention. Once you get used to it - its a very fun racquet, especially when you find the sweet spot. Its pretty stable,, but adding some lead (3 / 9 on the head)would make it even better (thats on my list). The Dense string pattern offers great control - I am very statified on this category. What I need is abit more lively feel like the other Yonex I play with - this points me to the tension of the string. My regret is that I strung it way too low for my liking - I read in TW forum, every is recommending that I strung it in the lower 50s. It's currently strung at 50 on Main and 52 at the Cross. I plan to restring it again next time to 55(main) / 57 ( Cross). I think there is yet more to be discover what this tiny fire ferrari can do. The proj is not over .....

Ti 70 Long - definitely would recommend adding lead on the 3 / 9 on the head which help stablized the racquet.

Also Ti 70 Mid - noticed the mid delivers more flat ball compared to Ti 70 Long. I am not convinced that the mid lack spin capabilities. I played with Prince NXG Mid and Head Flx Prestine - both have the same dense string pattern and I don't have problems with generating spin. Again... the tension of the string needs to be adjusted in my case.

Just got the mid lm hit with it a bit not sure how I like it yet. Will try and get some pics of them up one of these days
