    @kimguroo

Really nice work on those shoes as usual, the two best vapor colorways of the year IMO. I have both pairs as well :)

I painted the trophy and I don't think Vinyl film will stick to vapor 9.5 material.
it's possible but you need to send your shoes to me ^_^

Yes. I thought about embroidery option. Probably it might be close to real one but
Honestly If I spend extra $$$ to do embroidery RF logo, I won't use those shoes.
    I don't collect shoes anymore ^_^
my point of customization is less money and less time to make it.
Probably material might be less than $3 and Actual time might be less than 40 min for those two vapors (Spending graphic work is excluded haha).

Since I paint Vapor 9.5 and LB, It looks closed to real one. I was a little surprised by the result too.

Also Fed's actual shoes has carbon fiber material. I thought about carbon fiber effect painting but passed it. Probably next time I might try carbon fiber effect PJ ^_^

Personally I like blue shoes but black shoes has more eye popping customization
because of metallic silver trophy. blue one is less noticeable with good light.

a picture of comparison between real fed and mine (Still think trophy should position more to right).

I'm not sure if I ever commented on your Barricades 2eighty but those Orange and Black ones are so sick. I was looking for this post of yours and while doing so, I found a post from Marksalot who has/had the same shoes. Damn they look nice. I got out of the tennis apparel/shoe thing for awhile so I missed quite a few nice things. I found these using the wayback machine and looks like they were available in mid 2012 along with some nice adidas "tennis" tees

Trophy was painted by air brush and I used heat transfer material at tongues.
It's the best way to do customize that way because it takes less money and time to do ^_^

Picked up the Djokovic 7s when they were on sale during Black Friday. Of course that appears to be the normal price now:)

Nice to see this thread back in business! My favourite thread, but doesn't get a lot of love these days.

Here's a pic of my last couple of pairs:

V's design was amazing. Best looking Vapor IMO. Too bad they did not last at all on the courts.

Here's my current mashup of collector and in-play shoes - I'd posted in the Apparel thread because I couldn't find this one:

Thanks. I hope Nike makes more so those of you who didn't get a shot can get some.

How are things up there? Ever getting back down here? We need to hit.

I might have to pick some up before they're gone! I hope they come with a built-in Sampras smash. I'm out in the midwes+ now but was just up in San luis Obispo last week. When I'm back in the LA area let's hit for sure.

The shirt was so futuristic for it's time. I found one today on 'the auction site for noble men' for cheap. No Rafa collection is complete without one I say.

I have the shorts! :) I don't think the color was volt though, they didn't debut Volt until 2012. I think the color was some kind of lime green.

Or his French Open 2009 polo!
Despite the loss, I still say that outfit was one of the best he ever wore.

The shirt and shoes were dynamite. Not to mention the pink and blue shoes he never wore cause he was ousted so early.

I have the polo, it's just a shame when I picked it up off the bay, I was still in the process of losing weight, so now it's like 2 sizes too big. :(

is that rubber on the side of the shoe? that was my only knock on the 2015s was terrible durability on the sides

I'm not really sure what it's made of, but it's not rubber. It's sort of a plasticky, silicone-ish material, where the 7 solid circular pattern used to be in the 2015 version (the shiny circular pattern in the pic below). To be honest, I don't know if the new design is meant to be more durable, because my Barricade 2015 got stolen a week ago after only having it for under 2 months, and I don't recall wearing out the sides. In terms of the overall construction and fitment of the Barricade 2016, it's essentially the same as the 2015 (breaks in as quickly and easily as the 2015), so the changes are probably cosmetic for the most part.

I play a lot more than your average player so it's to be expected especially since I slide a lot. To give you an idea of how fast I wear out shoes I put a hole in the side of my barricade 2015s in 1 week and wore most of the outsole flat in a month. Hopefully the change means better durability.

Wow that's pretty extreme.. Sounds like you also play much harder than I do and at a much higher level. I do run a lot more than most to chase after shots but I don't slide. I thought Barricades are usually considered one of the most durable tennis shoes out there, and for me it's definitely much more durable coming from the Vapor Tour because that wore out much faster for me than Barricade 2015. I've also heard that the older Barricades were even more durable but I haven't tried them personally.

Indeed. I love that colourway. The pair that I had was of that exact colourway. I have to say, damn thief has good tastes.
