Yes...and no. I imagine Nike put the '6 Month Guarantee' on most of its shoes as a marketing ploy, and never really expected them to last 6 months. They bank on people being lazy, losing their receipt, or just not caring that they burn a hole in them.

However, after using the GR4s for the same time period as my Air Max Cages, I'm convinced Asics actually engineered those shoes (or at least gave a good-faith effort) to last 6 months.

I agree no doubt....I think all 6-month guarantee companies bank on people losing receipts or forgetting. IT means nothing to me because I own 6-8 pairs that I rotate around, so I don't wear them our for 1-2 years. :?

Asics has definitely boosted the thickness of its outsole over the years in the Gel Res line, but the durability frankly still isn't great compared to most other shoes with a durability guarantee. Still, it's a good shoe, and Asics is easy to deal with and fast to replace shoes.

Teh trend could be as simple as a lot of people use Nikes.

I usually wear out my Barricades until there's an actual hole in my sneakers, but looking around these other posts, you guys barely get into the dense foam layer and it's good to go?

Anyways, these are my Gel Resolutions are looking like. I assume they're ready to be shipped? I bought them through Tennis-Warehouse, would it be easier to send them back to T-W or should I mail them to the address in the Asics card that was inside the box?

TW may not take Adidas, you may need to ship them to the manufacturer, AFAIK.

Just be certain about this: For Nike, if you ship to TW, they will give you credit for purchase price, while if you ship to Nike, they will give you credit for MSRP.

For me, that is usually a $40 difference, so I always ship back to Nike. I do not know what Asics or Adidas do for warranty returns, but it might be worth looking into.

Good tip for the state of the above shoes(really worned out); in my case I use TW b/c I send the shoes back the moment the thread is gone and I start slipping (don't want to risk an injury)...

I wonder if this qualifies, I'm thinking it wont because i still have some thread to wear out, but the shoe is getting loose and me and almost sliding on the courts couple of times. I has been 2 months since i worn it.

Mine are actually a bit more worn out threadwise(but not by much) when I start slipping and that's when I sent them back ASAP, being afraid of injuries.

    Barricade 7 Warranty

I wore out my B7's as this is my first time doing this i hav a few questions...
Exposure of the bottom of the upper of the shoe from outsole wear qualifies for this warranty?
If i bought this online off of tennis warehouse do i send it back to them?
In the box my shoes never came with a receipt...or does tht sticker with "UPS Ground" on it count?
How does adidas exactly give me a free pair? (do they give credit or send shoes)
Can i pick the barricades that i want to get? (want novak 7's not B8's)

    Thanks!!

If you're referring to my post, the bright yellow GR5s, then yes they are ready to be sent back. I emailed TW, and they said I can ship them over as soon as I can.

Does Wilson give you a voucher like Nike or does it just send you a new pair?

Haven't posted here in a while. I was wearing Barricade V's off the bay last fall, so I didn't have anything to send in. Here are my Nike Air Max Cages after 4 months. Very similar wear to McLovin's, though it appears I'm not as much of a heel striker as he :)

Already picked up another pair on sale off TW. I've been sliding around in these the past couple of days. Overall, I've been pretty happy with the Cage. Lighter than my Barricades. Durability has been about the same. I think the Barricade 5 and 7 gripped the court better than the Cage, but I experienced no stability issues. Thanks again for the thread, kimguroo.

These should qualify for the Nike Outsole Warranty, no? And I've got a tournament on the 7th, so would it be possible to use these then send them in to Nike?

They should qualify. But I'm afraid you're better off waiting after your tournament as I don't think you're going to receive the new pair soon enough. Pay attention to possible slippage though.

I was thinking the same thing, however I forgot to mention my warranty ends on June 12th. Would sending them in after the tournament still work, considering it's on the 7th?

I don't know; you'd have to consider the time it will take to arrive. And frankly I'm not familiar with US posting delays.

That's a rip off warranty that tricks people into buying! How can you wear out the midsoles within 6mos and not slip to death while playing??? And the upper needs to completely ripped open showing a hole in 6 months?

I believe the postage date is the date they honor not arrival date. You should call tw or the brands warrenty department for confirmation.

Yes, but play the tournament first. New shoes could be pretty uncomfortable

Does Nike honor the day I made the shipment or the date they receive the shoes? My warranty ends today (June 12) and I shipped the on June 9th using two day shipping. Thanks to USPS's awful "two day" shipping my shoes will get to Nike tomorrow instead yesterday(the estimated delivery date). Does anyone know?

Technically, yes, but to be safe wear them one or two more times.

If you buy your shoes from TW, all shoe warranty claims go through them, except for Adidas. The instructions on sending back to Adidas is on the customer service page, just need to scroll down some. $13.XX postage and some other things.

If you have any specific questions your best choice is either to call TW (you'll reach customer service), or to send in an email, with pictures to info@tennis-warehouse.com.

You obviously have not done it.
In my (and many other people's) case I wear through the sole in one (fairly small) spot while the rest of the sole is just fine and provides enough traction and stability to play for months...

My minor advise would be to buy from TW (like I do) and the moment you start slipping (right after I get a bald spot in the thread usually), I send them back and they warrrant the 6 months warranty!

I think Adidas is the exception (which needs to dealt with the company).

I dont know should i be happy or sad.
I returned a pair of cage back to nike, instead of the claim department, i sented to the return department. The nike representative told me its fine, they will transfer the shoes to the claim department.
Today i received an email form paypal saying that nike refunded my account 66dollar .This means i can use this money to buy another pair of shoes with warranty! But my original plan was to buy bunch of nike clothes by using the voucher (115, instead of the 66 that i paid for).

So, if you guys bought your nike shoes full retail, ship it back to the return department instead of the claim department. They might refund you the price you paid for in your original form of payment.

I bought some Air Max Cages, but the air bubbles popped after a few months so I sent them back to Nike and they gave me a voucher. The tread was fine, the only problem was the air bubbles. With the voucher, I bought a new pair of Air Max Cages, and now just a few months in I have almost worn through the tread.

Once they wear down completely, am I going to be able to send back this new pair of AMC’s for the outsole guaranty? Or no because I bought this pair with a voucher?

    hope this makes sense. thanks

Nope, you cant claim warranty on shoes that you purchased with voucher. I am not sure will it work if the shoes is defective.

On my CB 4.3 I've managed to wear it down to the bubble on the back. You are able to see the plastic from the bottom of the shoe. Is that good to send back?

i'm calling nike in the morning to get the ball rolling on my cages..[hole burned through the sole in 2 months and a broken heel bubble..plus completely bald] mclovin posted way back that you can use your voucher at a nike store or online.. he also said he was able to buy a pair of shoes and other items to meet the full voucher amount. the language on nikes claim page seems to indicate that you can use a voucher for a single pair of shoes. any thoughts? i would very much like to maximize my voucher dollars despite only paying $60 at a nike factory store for my cages at a labor day clearance sale.

For your cage, you will get 115 in voucher regardless of how much you paid for it. I have returned many pairs of shoes by directly filling out the claim application online, its much faster than calling them, since they are just helping you to fill the application. This is the claim application https://help-us.nikeinc.com/app/eclaim_agree_terms/country_abrev/us/rma_type/Rm9vdHdlYXI=/, after you filled it out, you will get an email that includes the claim number, and the steps.(it is the same email you will get if you call them and ask them to fill out the application for you)

Oh. Willson might be very strict... Probably Nike will grant the warranty. BTW it's good to know.

You should use a little more to 100% sure... How long did you use the shoes?
