We have discussed this possibility. Unfortunately I have been down with the flu recently, and our primary indoor center is closed for the next month. But.....patience just might be rewarded. :) However we have only one request: anyone wishing to criticize our play must first come to Nashvegas and take us each on in a video taped match to be posted on TTW for all to see. We do not think this should thwart the criticism of most any who are truly convicted we are no good, since we are both old, grey, slow, and know we stink :) BHBH

    Well, well well.

The draw isn't out yet, but it could happen Sunday.

It would be totally GOATish© if it did.

Now I really hate to bring it up, but again, to all those that still call J011y a 3.5, I lol.

J011y subb'd for another team I captain (USTA Corp Ringer League) a few weeks ago and played dubs for the first time together and it was delightfully scrumptious. J011y and I played against a former DIV 1 guy that once had a top 50 ranking a few years ago and a regular 4.0 and beat them 6-0.

During this stunning victory, J011y hit a swinging volley that was probably the single most agressive GOATworthy® gutsy sickening doubles shot I've ever witnessed. As he wielded the J90™ #16 into the air I was dumbfounded that he was taking such an offensively horrifying backswing in a friendly (but very competitive) corporate league match. It was as if he studied the Joker USO swinging volley match point Fed shots and replicated them with about 40% more force with slaughterous intention. My jaw was dropped, which rarely happens on the tennis court. Sure we make ESPN highlight shots once or twice every few sets but this MF shot was terrifying.

For the mixed match, J011y then played with one of my players who is a former Harvard female player and won that match handily as well. 3.5? LOL.

    J011y is immortal.

Short points is an understatement, I was either missing or you were hitting huge serves. The only reason I (barely) won is I started to make some shots towards the end (mostly backhands up the line). :)

I was out of practice, but not that much out. I feel like you could've pretty easily kept up with me at my "best" (which basically involves getting returns back into play).

    I wish, I did save a couple set-points. :)

Eh, getting there, I'm starting to liken my game to more of a Blake-esque situation (in other words, if I actually place my shots, I could be a way better player, but as it is, I bash and crash [into the net]).

Such as it is, here's a short clip of 3 forehands (horrible quality, I know...) :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60grv8rZt3w

I love power-players when I have some hours logged, but as slapshot showed me with his huge 1st serve, I have to scrap otherwise...

    Joel,

I hope to see you on Sunday. However, please stop inflating Jolly. He's no 3.5 he's a strong 3.0.

the 4.0 and ex-Div 1 player lost to you (4.5) and Jolly (3.0). So, you and Jolly are 7.5, which mean the other team is 7.0. That means the ex-Div 1 player is a 3.0. Which is what MAC believes are Div 1 players in the East.

I'm not playing. I'm a 1.0, on account of never having played a USTA "real" match. I'll be a spectator dreaming of one day getting bumped to 1.5.

Soy actually didn't want that vid posted, since it's not a good representation of his current skill level. I do have a video camera, so maybe I'll shoot something soon. Nothing special, just your typical 3.5 here. Soy and I would be a good match, for sure.

It would actually be an impossible matchup. They'd switch racquet after every point, going to gradually older racquets and then they'd have a massive argument about paintjobs and which players used what.

Back on topic: Fedace vs ANYONE at the Stanford tennis teams or Serendipitous vs Sentinel.

As you guys might know, Kiteboard has a flaring case of bad tennis elbow. Kinda not fair to have him serve to me with that handicap, or have him try to return ANY serves from anyone with that glaring handicap.
How's about you computer genuises try to find Focus42? I played him a couple of sets 2 years ago, him a solid 3.5, me using only a conti grip for all shots. Twas mid summer, I don't play from April thru Nov preferring to save it for windsurfing. I was not in practice at all, and didn't feel a need to work into shape to beat any 3.5 from anywhere.

^ why should someone else do the work for u to validate your ability by tracking some poster down. Just post a vid and be done with it. Simple.

If you're addressing LeeD, why should I do any work for YOU? I don't know you, I give good advice for free already, and I don't care if you think I can play or not. You can deduce that from my answers, which I've posted a few of for the last 2 years.

    Oh, it was me.
OK, I did not want a vid of ME hitting the ball.
Someone else did, and more than one, I'd imagine. That's the gist of this thread, right?
Tough bunnies. If you can't figure out I play as well as I say on these threads, then you just don't know tennis. How many other guys can chime in on a variety of tennis subjects? Or care to?

I think most posters want to see a vid of u because u have the capacity to boast. Was it necessary to mention u beat any 3.5 with no practice and only using conti? You don't get guys like tonlars ever needing to go on about beating a 4.5 or 5 with his hand tied behind his back

    Whats that supposed to mean?

Oh thats right youre that troll I forgot about a few months ago. Youre a 4.0 player and trying to tell me what high level tennis is. Still not sure what your issue is, other than you have a bizzare definition of what 6.0 tennis is and you think im on a high horse. Top 300= 6.0... makes no sense. It doesnt really matter anyway, 5.5, whatever, I know how I play and that theres many better than myself. I have no delusions of making it on the tour which is why I only play open tournaments which have alot more money than low level pro tournaments.

As all of you already know, "there is more than one way to skin a cat".
I've answered a few threads, as you know. My answers are based on MY way of looking at the game of tennis. You may agree or disagree as you please, as I can disagree with your posts.
As far as "right or wrong". Guess what? The world is shades of gray.
