Bahahaha! Apparently they sell hard liquor at the USO. I was expecting him to go over the rail. The stairway was probably the safer exit.

    LeeD here....
I"m in SanPablo, just N of ElCerrito on the EastBay side of SanFrancisco. I"m falling well into 3.5's by now, but can hit 4.5 shots if given any time at all and able to reach the ball (sprained ankle still doesn't allow me to run}.
Phone is 510-501-1702, drive a really bad 1979 Van that doesn't allow much travel, but can bike 10 miles any direction.
Weekdays only, weekends are for surfing and hanging with g/f.

113 pages and not one substantial video of two members hitting. Mods need to nuke this thread

tennis lessons are expensive (playing a match with a good player is like taking a lesson) :)

there's this his school kid who coaches beginners. he isn't very good and his rate is $60/hr.

Does substantial have to equal fantastically great tennis? If not, holds on ta' yer hat. It'll be a few days but I'll be posting our two sets we played.

Quality of tennis isnt what’s important but I’m sick of looking at people filming with their Iphones vertical so it looks like looking through a slit, or people filming from the side so you can’t see “tennis” but just someone’s ugly stroke, etc. Just bad video is what kills it not the tennis itself.

Okay folks, here's the video. BTW, it's completely unedited so there's going to be lulls here and there for ball pickup etc. Hopefully the only embarrassing thing I did was my play, lol! Most of the game play is there. I couldn't get the second, end, part to transfer due to a memory card error. I nailed my camera at one point and that's probably what caused the information to become corrupted.

    danno123 and mtommer playing.

^^both of you guys can play! bravo.

how nice it is to see faces, instead of endless theoretical tennis, like walking every batter etc.

Thanks for posting that. It's tough to tell from the video, but mtommer's serve is very tough to handle. It's also apparent from the video that I need to get more pace on my serves.

mtommer tagged his tripod with a serve during our second set and actually broke off a piece of it. I'm not surprised that the camera lost the data.

We'll have to do it again some time this winter.
    danno

edited to add: wow, I had no idea my first serve motion was so relaxed (i.e., slow). After the first service game, I only missed 2 first serves, which basically means I don't even have a first serve - I have a second serve and a slightly slower second serve.

Um, this is AFTER the ball has bounced, and it was called out.

    That's not even close.

Actually, it's closer than it appears on the screencap. This is far after the ball bounced but still looks like it's inside the court from that angle.

This is closer to the bounce: [IMG]

Although it was still most likely was a bad call (or we didn't notice that the guy in black actually gave the other the point)

Makes his mistake that much less dishonorable :)
