power on 2hbh

Hi, I just recently completely changed by 2hbh.
I used to use an open stance and used my elbows and wrist a lot more.
Now I step parallel to the net and extend my left arm fully and hit...
However, I seemed to have lost much power on my shot..(maybe because of the added spin)
Also, I have a hard time returning serves with 2hbh since I am always late to the ball.
Any tips?

do not bend your back elbow or lower wrist once you begin to swing forward. the rest of the stroke is just footwork and hip/shoulder turn.

If it's just a service return, you can try just "poking" it in with a short, fast, small "flick of the wrist". That's what I use for emergencies, it works 95% of the time.

(I just hope you know what i mean by my vague description)

alright thanks..
So what should you do when your 2hbh is going into the net?
Should you just bend your knees more??

If the mechanics are good... On the return, just aim higher.

For regular groundstrokes it probably won't hurt to get lower. Many people do not bend their knees enough. There could be a lot of reasons you're hitting into the net though:

racquet face closed (strong grip?)
late contact
hitting too low/flat
etc...

Try to get "under" the ball. Use some topspin with a low to high racquet motion.
