    its practice

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c6LK6vXNbk

why does FFT have copyright authority over a personal video?

then what about all the FYB slow videos? shouldnt they all be blocked as well? isnt that a more serious infrigement on copyright since they profit from the video?

They own the rights to images from the tournament. They can prevent dissemination of images from that tournament, be it match or practice, in a public place such as the internet. Haven't you ever heard the announcement made by broadcasters of every sporting event?? Something to the effect of "any reproduction or rebroadcast of the images and events of this sporting event is strictly prohibited." And it is. That includes personal videos, just as going to see a movie and making your own "personal video" of it to bootleg is prohibited.

My guess is that most tournaments claim the rights to everything filmed on the premises. FFT just chooses to exercise their rights more actively.

I imagine that FYB paid for the rights to film those Indian Wells videos.

So technically any company who has legal right to a tournament can take down all pictures and vids posted on the internet? Even if they have no commercial purpose? We as the public have no right to post videos or images if a company wills it?

    Correct.

And this is news to you? Look on the back of any ticket to any major event you buy and see the restrictions listed - or in the information tab when you buy them online etc.
