Can someone suggest me a poly that has the spin potential similar to fresh alu power but lasts longer? I was thinking of using BG, but I'm not sure whether or not to do a full job or hybrid (and if hybrid, hybrid with what). I'm going to put it in an apdc if that matters, thanks!

You won't find any string that matches the Lux, but you can find strings pretty close to.

I would look for MSV HEX and the Signum Hyperion and Signum Tornado. Not very close to Luxilon Alu Power, but no string really is - but I'm testing these as replacement for my Lux Alu BB ROUGH at the moment and so far I really like the Signum Hyperion 1.24 quite well :D

BTW - also try the old Signum Pro Poly Plasma orange (crisper) and the Signum Pro Poly Plasma Pure (a bit softer) and as stated above, the Weiss Cannon Silverstring is also a very good poly string.

PolyStar Turbo- incredible spin and won't kill your arm even at high tensions.

you could give topspin cyberflash a try, there are many people that tried to use this as a cheaper alternative but there is nothing that can play as luxilon alu.

I had to switch after I was breaking ALUR in 1-1 1/2 hours of GS drilling. Settled on 'The Jolly Rig' Ashaway Kevlar 16M Alu Rough crosses.

I actually think it plays better than ALU Rough straight up, lasts three times as long, and is about 3 bucks cheaper per stringjob.

Good question. I'm not sure. I know there are poly's that are shaped (not round) differently in order to generate spin (Babolat PHT, Tecnifibre Blackcode, Pro Supex Blue Gear, SOLINCO Tour Bite, etc), but I do not know of any that are textured (other than Alu Power Rough).

    Take care.

Nickb recommended a Toalson string... Cyberax? I think it comes in at around 150 for a reel.

i just tested the Signum Pro Tornado 1.23 mm mains, Gosen OG Micro 17 in the crosses in my Pure Storm Ltd GT...very comfortable with decent amount on spin on the ball...even in my 18 x 20 setup...i'm really surprised how comfortable it is...
