Speaking from experience, I would say take her to a shop and let her pick her own. This is one of those highly personal decisions that needs to be made by the person who will be sleeping on it for the next 8 - 10 years. I just bought a bed recently and it was not easy for my husband and I to agree on one, and he still thinks we might have been better off if we had tested a few more models before we decided.

We have a 14" latex mattress, not a Tempurpedic motionless one, but something kind of similar. I like it.

I have really enjoyed my Tempurpedic. It's really supportive, so my back feels way better than the springy mattresses - though all my prior spring mattresses were cheap ones.

I've been happy with the Tempurpedic mattress. Not so much...the foam pillow though.
