    i use to play for the longest time with the old original head prestige classic in a 93 head. just got back into the game and don't really like the new prestige racquets (LM or i.prestige) just not the same. also i'm not as good anymore.

    was wondering if there ever was a prestige classic made and sold in a 98 head size?

    does anyone have a link to that post about the prestige lineage? i did a search and couldn't find it.

    was there a racquet make similar to the prestige in a 98 head size? like in the old head trisys series?

    thanks

    yup, pt 280, also radical midplus is pretty nice. A little more pop than the prestige, but very nice feel. Also dunlop 200g is quite similar feelwise.

    Pro Tour 630 is the European version of the Pro Tour 280.

    Same racquet - only difference is that the 630 has CAP grommets.

    All Prestige Mid's are 90".... MP's 95"... I think the Prestige Classic 660 is a 98", but not sure.

    Mid = 600 sq in
    MP = 630 = 98
    660 = 102
    OS = 690 = 107

    The i.Prestige MP and LM Prestige MP are both 630, the Prestige Classic MP is 660.
    The Prestige Mids are rated 93 by Head, but they're actually 89.5.

    The MP's are 95"... not 98", as stated.

    Likewise, the MP Prestiges are rated 98, but cannot be larger than 95. Or, maybe Prostaff 95s are actually 98. Either way, one of them is wrong because they have same-sized heads.

    thanks for the great knowledge everyone!

    i would also like to know about the prestige 660, 102 seems alittle big, but still feedback would be great.

    also, what would be the advantage of the CAP grommet? it seems that even some posters have suggested putting the CAP grommet onto some radicals for customization purposes? is it just a way to add weight without sacrificing the balance of the racquet?

    thanks

    does the 280 have a boxframe cross section similar to the prestige, or is it similar to other head frames like the LM radical cross secion?

    Yes, the Head 630 frames are the same size as other frames claiming to be 95 sq. in.

    600, 630, and 660 simply mean the area of the head in sq. cm.

    Personally, I think that the Pro Tour 280, and Head's other 630 frames, as well as all of the frames that are listed as being 95 sq. in. are actually 98 sq. in. I think some models are simply rounded off to 95, because 95 sounds more like a "player's frame" than does 100 sq. in.

    But who knows? Do they measure the inside of the head? The outside?

    It would be nice if all the racquet companies followed the actual standards of measurement accurately - but at least some obviously do not. Honesty is obviously not the strong point of racquet companies. Who cares, really, though? We can see how big a racquet head is without needing a number to validate what we see...

    I guess it's a reverse ******* contest eh?

    beenie? CAPS adds weight to the head that's distributed evenly over the hoop. For me, it increased the power and stability of the PT280 while expanding its sweetspot. In addition, it became a very competent net stick after the CAPS. The additional weight in the head was offset by my addition of a leather grip at the handle.

    My g/f uses a Prestige 660... I'll measure it, but it looked about the same as a Yonex RDX500 MP to me... i.e. 98"

    The pro tour 280 has virtually the same profile as an lm prestige mp. The cap grommets for the prestige fit perfectly onto the pro tour 280.
