After years using an Eagnas drop weight stringer I've finally moved on and just received a new Prince Neos 1000.
Of the two glide bars for the clamps, one is very smooth while the other is actually textured and seems "unfinished".
I spoke to Prince about this (a stringing machine customer service rep) who apparently has been intimately involved with the manufacturing of these stringers for a long time. He said at times they've made them smooth, and at times they've made them textured. And today with offshore manufacturing he says it's still within the range of normal for bars to come out either smooth or textured.
In my experience so far the clamps slide more easily on the smooth glide bar versus the textured bar, but I suppose they both work well enough. And I could see the purpose of a textured bar (perhaps this allows the clamp to grip the bar better when closed?).
So I'm curious for other Neos 1000 users, are your glide bars smooth or textured?
