Prince O3 Tour MP vs. MID

Has anyone tried the new Prince O3 Tour Midsize with the 95 sq in head? How does it compare to the 100 sq in sized Midplus? Curious to know.

Midplus has more spin due to it's open string pattern. They are both very comfortable on the arm - no shock against hitting fast and hard balls.

Hey bluegrasser,

How does the MP compare to the heavier and not as powerful tweeners? Can you get decent power outside of the sweetspot like you can with a tweener, or will you get a dud?

I like the mid better, more pop and feel and better on the serve, but a smaller sweet spot.

With the O3 technology, does the smaller sweetspot really cause your game to suffer or anything? Like, is it an actual disadvantage or just an observation.

Switched from a Volkl VX1 to a Prince O3 MP. Well the sweetspot on the O3 MP is really big. Bigger than the tweener I switched from. I think any racquet you hit out of the sweet spot is going to be either a dud or a shot that came out surprisingly good for hitting a terrible part of the racquet.

I hit below the sweetspot a lot and some rackets will consistently give me a dud and others will consistently give me a decent shot, so I do think it has to do with the racket and is not random as you seem to suggest.

Stiff rackets tend to have a bigger sweetspot and give you better results closer to the frame, but they are also hard on your body, so it's a tough compromise to make.

I'd say no, got no Tweenersville vibe...

Tweenersville is a very nice place to live if you are not a pro; me and my M-Fil 300 like it there. We also welcome those from Playerstown who reside there only because of status. They seem to leave Tweenersville very unhappy...

Supposedly with O3 technology, the sweetspot is basically the whole stringbed(yeah right, but that's what Prince wants to tell you... wouldn't this be the case since the mid uses the same technology? Or is it more like the flexpoint now, where you are rewarded with a better shot if you are dead on the sweetspot???
