Probably the best sports anime ever created lol.
Anyone else seen it before?
i dont like how cocky the main character is. its irritating
but there are other characters to like!
I agree though, he seems too cocky, but I ignored it and looked forward to the filler episodes.
I got bored of it after the first couple of times one of them played a drop shot that stuck to the ground, or hit a 'no touch ace'(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Absolute favourite anime...... The reason I started playing tennis in the first place!
It's a weird show. Tennis + Dragon Ball Z powers don't go well together.
The big question is who's better - Ryoma Echizen or Federer?
Plot? Character development? Ah screw that, just give me more 'Rondo Toward Destruction'!
What's sad is that in the first few episodes, you can see that they really wanted to have some sort of story about the father and son relationship.
In the end of the Path to the National Finals series. Ryoma beats Hewitt at the US Open. So that's a hard decision but I think Federer would still win.
Do they actually show an anime version of Hewitt?
I thought it was ok. I think some of the moves are doable to some extent. The snake move, can be done, but not exactly how he does it.
Not really, it shows their body, but shades out face and shoulders. In episode 81-83, theirs a copycat player and he plays Hewitt, Sampras, Ivanisevic etc. It's a fun episode haha.
I have watched all of the episodes at least twice (some 3-4). I love the show and I have the movies as well.
It's true the main character Ryoma is a bit cocky but it's not too far exaggerated from real life. I've played some people on the courts and have sometimes (occasionally) come across people who give off a cocky attitude just because they think they're good.
Anyways, like any other anime, it's always so full of special effects and weird names for the moves hheheeheh. Even weirder is how they pronounce the name of the moves in English...
Animes are basicly manga style cartoons so they always have to exaggerate. i havent seen this cartoon but i will start watching it tomorow on youtube or something.
^ Try veoh
As opposed realistic Bugs Bunny cartoons?
Haha. The moves are so funny when extremely exaggerated but when it goes too far like in Prince of Tennis (Live) and Prince of Tennis: The Two Samurai - The First Game, it gets more exaggerated as well as more hilarious.
I don't like it its way too fake lol. There is this anime about baseball (which i am not into) but watch that, its AWESOME compared to price of tennis...and its not fake. Take my word for it, download it.
Ryoma is cocky but it's because he has results to back that up, in real life people are just plain cocky because they just want to be
Yeah, I saw an episode or so, it sucked. Happy now? :|
The first five episodes or so aren't terrible, but considering it runs for 178 episodes, only the very hardcore fans who watch it for the LOL factors would make it through.
I don't know why I watched the whole show, other than that it's funny how little the director of the show knew about tennis. ie, people try to return "212 KM/H" serves FROM THE SERVICE LINE.
Form feet and legs? Form arms and body?
Big Bang service and Tezuka Zone killed the dinos. Lols.
Is that the actual show, or is that shooped? If not, that's pretty weak for something claiming to be a TV show.
that was really stupid.
Its in the animated movie.
What? You've never done it?
the main character is super cocky and looks hella gay. he talks like an insecure little girl who's as scrawny as a rod
Ryoma's voice actor is a woman.
like most of the anime's main characters. like naruto, goku, etc.
lol w/e its interesting seeing alot used yonex...was that movie helping yonex also fila, nike and i saw some mizuno advertise?
Yonex is a sponsor of the TV show after episode 55... all the other brands are disguised (ie, Puma = Fuma, and the Fila "F" becomes an "R").
anyone where i can watch this?
This guy has most of the whole show uploaded. Some missing parts but easy to find.
Then after watching all 178 episodes (lol) you can move on to movies or the OVA series.
Separate names with a comma.
