Pro Supex Stringing Machines

Hot off the press. I've just learned from Pro Supex that they will be re-entering the stringing machine market once more.

Pro Supex used to have their own stringing machines many years ago along with their racquets. But now that they also have their own brand of strings, it makes sense for them to also offer stringing machines to complement their strings.

I understand that they will be releasing pictures of their machines next week and will offer 3 types of machines:

1. A high end electric stringing machine
2. An affordable electric stringing machine
3. A mechanical stringing machine. I'm not sure if this will be a dropweight or crank, but we will find out next week.

Mutual Power yes. But definitely not Eagnas. The owner of Pro Supex has great disdain for the quality of Eagnas machines. Think Ektelon.

The first has it's side mounts installed backwards. And the image is all stretched.

not to question you or anything, cos i know you have more experience than i ever will, but wouldn't it make more sense to have the mounts that way? That way it stops all the inward pressure of the strings and stop the racquet from warping. I dont know, because i only have a 2 point mount system at the moment

It would actually be better at preventing warping if it was mounted that way. But the problem will be - how do you remove the racquet after stringing as the mounts will be stuck in the stringbed.

If they have the SP-880 for the right price, I'm buying it. Looks like a well built machine. The only problem I see is a poorly located tensioner button.

the strings couldn't be installed. the mounts reach too far into the racket. And even if you could get the strings in, as it was stated earlier, I doubt that you could open them enough to get the racket off.

Inside 6-pt mounting exists but the side mounts are small and do not penetrate the string bed.

Also, the side mounts are to reduce the amount of bowing the racket does during the installation of the mains. The racket compresses and the sides bow out, not in. When the crosses are installed, ideally, this is negated and the racket is in equilibrium. :D

An update. The Pro Supex machines are made in the same factory as Yonex and Pacific machines, so the quality is definitely going to be good, not like Eagnas.

A poor layout is the problem

They appear to rotate 360 degrees. This is a case of the person taking the photos not being aware fo the graphic design layout of what is in fact an advertisement.

I got a response from the company, and the mounts are reversible, for smaller frames like badmitten. The opposite side has a smaller channel. They also said they are selling this to make their dealers happy, as their main concern is strings. They probably just rebranded another machine that is out there.

Jonathan, you mean Poreex made for ProSupex. The top grade Yonex is made by Japanese company Toyo.

No, I've got confirmation that they're not made by Poreex. However, they're definitely made in the same factory as Pacific, Yonex and Mutual Power machines.

Anyone know when these Pro Supex Machines will be released? Also on the quality of Mutual Power, I think it looks good. I found someone selling theirs on e b a y with some good pictures on it. I'm thinking about getting a MP Hercules 680

Pro Supex Machines are now available at the big auction bay site. What amazes me is the lack of decent pictures for a $2500 machine.
