problem with Gamma 5800 ELS base

    one of my bases will not stay. i will clamp the string and then try to set the base and it will snap back to its resting position. i dont think oil would help because it seems too loose, but i am unsure what to do

    sounds like your base clamp needs some adjustment. download the manual. there are instructions on how to adjust the bases in the manual. do you have the switch action bases?

    Yep. The machine came with an adjustment tool (really large "cylinder' form factor hex wrench). You'd adjust from the bottom. This assumes nothing else in your clamp has gone wacky. If it has, there's a longer adjustment process that would require disassembly and adjustment from the top. This is pretty rare, though.
