When I serve, if I don't do the ball tossing, I can swing the racquet smoothly and get good racquet head speed. But if I add the ball tossing into it, then I'm out of sync and my swing is always in a hurry, and therefore, of course, cannot get the power and consistency I need.

My question is, what is the best way to practice to sychronize my serve motion? Thanks.

If you are hurrying to hit the ball then toss slower and get the racquet arm moving first. I see this in alot of people who toss too high, since the ball is moving faster they rush the motion, so check your toss

Why would you ever swing the racquet without tossing the ball? Who ever taught you to serve like that may have messed you up. Always practice the full sequence, ball toss and swing until the timing is right. You may need to adjust your toss and your footwork and other stuff til it feels right.

Obviously you need go out and practice.
I can make my serve look like Sampras' without a ball. With a ball toss up in the air, it looks nothing like his.

Maybe you need to take a few lessons to get your motion.
