I see Mardy Fish has won only 4 career titles out of 14 finals! Glad he's won the Delray Beach this time around. But that kind of winning percentage is just not healthy.

  2. One man comes to mind even though he is 1 of the 7-8 best players of all time,Ivan Lendl. He won 8 out of 19! GS-finals...

Despite all that, he is still an 8 time grand slam champion! Belongs to a very exclusive club of GOATs. Not so bad if you think of it that way.

Zvonareva went 2-6 in finals in 2008.

Isn't Monfils something like 1-7 in ATP finals?

He is 1-6. The only tournament he won is Sopot.

Verdasco is 2-5 in finals, Lopez is 1-4, Kiefer is 6-13, more that I don't want to have to look through...

Something that piqued my interest was that Ginepri was 2-0 in finals.

A couple of note are Pioline at 5-12, Jimmy Arias 5-11, Brian Teacher 8-15. Patrick Rafter was 1-6 heading into his first US Open final, but went 9-8 for the remainder of his career thereafter to finish at 11-14. Goran Ivanisevic was 22-27, which I suspect might be the worst winning percentage of anyone who has reached that many finals.

but overall his career record in finals is pretty impressive.
out of a massive 144 finals he finished with a 94-50 record.

Tim Henman is 13-18. Wawrinka is 1-5 on ATP's I guess. Ljubicic is 8-16. Ferrero is 11-16. Acasuso is 3-7. Malisse is 5-9. Melzer is 1-6. Andreev is 3-9. There are many others ...

Jarkko Nieminen is (unfortunately) 1-8 in singles finals. The only win so far was in Auckland 2006. :(

Poor Lendl, no wonder he didn't have the on and off court charisma to go with his talent. That's a pretty depressing statistic.

why does lendls name keep popping up in this thread,
i already pointed out the guy went 94-50 in career finals.
his name would be more suited for a thread about best winning percentages in finals....instead people keep harping on about his record in grand slam finals which is irrelevant in this thread...keep on topic you ninkumpoops!

Yeah. He did never won a MS, but had semis in all of them, except Miami. I really don't understand why did he had such a bad luck on these important events.

Paul Haarhuis has a impressive record in doubles finals (54-40), but in singles his performance isn't that good (1-7). Ancic is 3-8.

If were talking majors alone then it has to be Lendl. Dude went 8 for 19 unreal.
