Does any one know for sure if the new reproduction version of the PS 6.0 95 is a little thicker at the beam than the older version??

Not sure what you mean by "new reproduction version"? I'm pretty sure the ones from TW are made with the same mold at the same factory in China as always. So it's not a reproduction or counterfeit copy or anything, but the real thing direct from Wilson.

I beleive that the St Vincent ProStaffs 6.0 85s (pre 1991) were 18mm thick, while the post 1991 6.0 85s are 17mm thick.

From recently talking to Wilson, this racquet (PS 6.0 85) was discontinued/retired last month. But tennis warehouse claims that they will have stock right through to the end of 2005.

yeah the st. vincents were about 18mm. ive got an early one and a 1990 model, adn there is a noticable deiffernce in width, if you use a digital caliper.

Guys, he's asking about the PS 6.0 95, not the 85.

Thanks BreakPoint for noticing. The reason why I ask because I used to play with them (not any more though) and recently I came across one at a local tennis shop and it seem much thicker than what I remember them as. I swear they have almost the same thickness with the 85.

Reason I ask was because I want to buy them just for my collection but I just want to make sure it's the same one. any input would be much appreciated.

  7. Almost the same thickness as the 85? Are you talking about cross section? Because the beam width of the 85 is 17 mm whereas the 95's is 20 mm. It's not one of those Pete Sampras Autograph rackets with the tread marks on it, is it? Those led to the 6.0 95, and might have had a slightly thicker cross section?
